摘要: A drill bit for forming a wellbore through a geologic formation includes a connector configured for connection to a drill string and a bit body coupled to the connector. A fixed cutting element is mounted on the bit body for rotation with the bit body and a slot extends through the bit body. A rolling cutting blade is supported in the slot such that an exposed segment of the cutting blade protrudes from slot and concealed segments of the rolling cutting blade adjacent the exposed segment are disposed within the slot. The rolling cutting blade rotates to thereby conceal the exposed segment and expose the concealed segments. A plurality of rotating cutting elements are supported on a periphery of the rolling cutting blade.

摘要: The invention discloses a drill bit design method based on rock crushing principle with local variable strength, including: drill bit is divided into local crushing feature regions; strength mode factors of the local crushing feature regions are calculated; a difference among strength mode factors of the local crushing feature regions is obtained to obtain a vector sum of horizontal cutting forces of the drill bit tooth corresponding to the same group of cutting tooth on the drill bit; treating the difference among the strength mode factors of the local crushing feature region as a target control condition for drill bit design. Based on the rock crushing principle with local variable strength, after dividing the symmetrical cutting tooth into groups, the strength variation factors of the symmetrical position are adjusted and balanced, so that the rock crushing strength of different local crushing feature regions can be changed in a targeted manner.

An illustrative example includes inserting a rolling cutting structure into a central bore of a bit body through an upper connector section of the bit body toward a lower end portion of the bit body. The scraping-wheel cutting unit is disposed on the fixed-blade by a rotary connection.
