    摘要: An ignition apparatus for a gasoline engine of independent cylinder type with low-voltage wiring has no distributor, and a CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignitor) is employed to improve the ignition characteristic of lean mixture. In order to lengthen a discharge time of the ignition apparatus of CDI type, the primary winding of a transformer in series with a switching element is connected in parallel to a capacitor, the ends of which are connected to a DC power supply. The switching element includes an IGBT and a diode connected in parallel to each other.

    摘要: An electronic ignition system includes a converter for receiving DC power from a source of DC power such as a battery. The convertor converts the DC power at low voltage to a high frequency signal which is stepped up to provide a higher voltage to a charge storage device such as a capacitor. The higher voltage on the capacitor is then made available to an ignition coil under the control of a microprocessor or a microcontroller for providing high voltage electrical energy to one or more spark plugs of an internal combustion engine.

    摘要: Ignition systems of the kind used to ignite a difficult-to-ignite fuel oil by using energy stored in a capacitor at a breakdown for creating an ignition arc at the electrodes of a resistive arc probe, having a semiconductor resistive film across spark electrodes of the resistive arc probe, designed to preclude interference of contaminants with conduction of an ignition arc across an established current path between the electrodes of the resistive arc probe. An air gap and a resistive arc probe are connected in series. A first high voltage power supply develops a first direct current voltage across a capacitor, which is supplied as a voltage across the air gap and the resistive arc probe. A second high voltage power supply supplies a second pulsed voltage across the air gap and the resistive arc probe, wherein the second pulsed voltage is substantially higher than the first direct current voltage, and the second pulsed voltage jumps the gap of the air gap and thus initiates an ignition arc. The first direct current voltage is current limiting thereby allowing the capacitor voltage to approach zero, and thus allowing the air gap to cease conducting, thereby allowing the cycle to repeat itself. A diode is positioned between the second pulsed voltage and the capacitor of the first high voltage power supply to isolate the capacitor from the second pulsed voltage. A second capacitor is placed parallel to the resistive arc probe to prevent the pulsed second high voltage from affecting the resistive arc probe.

    摘要: An ignition circuit comprising storage means to store electrical energy, first and second switching devices, means for charging the storage means and means for switching each of the switching devices such that charge on the storage means is transferred to cause firing of an igniter in such a way that the voltage across each switching device is only a fraction of the total applied to the igniter. In this way, standard solid state switches may be employed rather than the more costly devices required to handle the full voltage to be applied to the igniter. More than one such ignition circuit may be combined to provide a scanning multiple spark system with a plurality of igniters, each in conjunction with a pair of switching devices and means for switching each of the switching devices as described above.

A diode is positioned between the second pulsed voltage and the capacitor of the first high voltage power supply to isolate the capacitor from the second pulsed voltage.

    摘要: In an engine ignition system having a fail-safe function, a battery, a coil and a transistor are connected in series. A capacitor is connected to the coil by way of a diode. The capacitor, a primary winding of an ignition coil and a transistor are connected in series. A transistor and a diode in serial connection are connected in parallel to the coil and diode in serial connection. A drive circuit turns on and off the transistor to charge the capacitor and operates the transistor to implement the ignition operation. The drive circuit, in the event of system failure, turns on and off the transistor, while retaining the transistor in the on state, thereby to feed energy of the battery to the primary winding.
