    摘要: The invention concerns a connector to connect two parts of a brake conduit where the connector permits axial movement without variation of the volume of the conduit. The connector is used in the suspension fork of a motorcycle. The brake circuit is the hydraulic connection between a handle and the brake cylinder of the front wheel. The connector makes it possible to integrate the brake circuit into a leg of the fork. The variation in length is necessary to compensate the suspension movement of the fork. The invention aims at a brake circuit connector which can be mounted in the centre of the leg. Because of the permitting of axial movement without variation of the volume of the circuit the brake conduit can completely be built in. Because of the absence of hoses the brake circuit is very direct in the transmitting of the brake force. Also protruding parts are completely avoided.

    摘要: A fluid delivery system supplies two or more fluids to a rotatable shaft integrated within a device such as a mechanical press and develops damped clearance spaces at the bearing surfaces of the fluid coupling device. In one arrangement, a rotary union is adapted for driving rotation by the shaft and provides two fluid pathways disposed in flow communication with a fluid access channel formed in the shaft. Bearing support is provided by an oil film present within a clearance space defined between the rotary union and a stationary housing disposed thereabout. In another arrangement, a stationary fluid transfer device is adapted for non-rotation and disposed within a crankshaft cavity to define a clearance space there between. A fluid pathway formed therein communicates fluid to the crankshaft access channel. Bearing support is provided by an oil film present in the clearance space. There are no sliding face seals in the arrangements.

    摘要: The expandable band is used to secure a sealing element within a generally cylindrical structure, such as a pipe or manhole, or other round hole. The expandable band includes a band body having a first band end portion and a second band end portion. A plurality of slots are disposed in the first band end portion, and a locking member extends from the second band end portion. The locking member is an integral element of the second band end portion and includes a tab for extending through the second band end portion and into one of the plurality of slots to lock the expandable band at the desired diameter. The locking member may also include at least one rib or protrusion. When the band is expanded, the tab is disengaged from the slots and slides over the slots, allowing the first and second band end portions to move relative to one another. At the desired diameter, the tab engages one of the slots to lock the band at the desired diameter. In practice, the sealing member provides a resilient backing against the locking member thus securing the expandable band and providing the desired seal.

    摘要: The invention relates to a storage structure having a fluid transfer boom for transfer of cryogenic liquids such as liquified natural gas (LNG) from a first storage structure to a vessel. The boom has two arms which are rotatably connected at their first ends via a swivel joint. In one embodiment a liquified natural gas duct is supported within the first and second arms which form a gas tight housing around the liquified natural gas duct. The transfer boom according to the present invention provides a redundant containment system wherein the LNG duct is supported by the structurally strong and self-supporting transfer boom which confines the natural gas in case of a leak in the inner LNG duct. In a further embodiment the transfer boom comprises seven swivel joints in total such that rotation in all directions is possible when the vessel is moored to the storage structure and has to cope with relative motions of roll, pitch, yaw, heave, sway and surge. The first arm may be suspended from the storage structure in a generally vertical direction, the second arm extending between the first end of the first arm and the vessel in a generally horizontal direction. Hereby a reliable, self-supporting construction can be achieved-without the use of counterweight or tensioning cables for the vertical arm. Preferably the swivel joints are each of a substantially similar construction such that the costs of manufacture can be reduced. Another embodiment provides for the inner LNG duct being provided with leak containment means and with deformable wall parts for allowing thermal expansion.

Each annular wall is connected to a respective distribution member via apertures which have an axial dimension which is smaller than the diameter of the inlet or outlet. In this way, the pressure area between the seals of the inner and outer rotatable walls is reduced. Each distribution member may include a chamber that is defined by the external surface of the inner and outer annular walls, and an enclosing wall. In this way, an effective thermal isolation is provided by the distribution chambers adjacent to the external surfaces of the inner and outer rings. Deformation of the distribution chambers of the swivel will tend to decrease the width of the seal extrusion gap.
