    摘要： An expandable pipe seal includes a sleeve that is expandable from a first, compact configuration to a second, expanded configuration having a larger outer diameter than the first configuration. The sleeve may be formed from sheet material that is rolled into a cylindrical shape such that a first longitudinal edge of the sheet overlaps a second longitudinal edge of the sheet in a circumferential direction. The sleeve is provided with first and second locking structures that cooperate to facilitate expansion of the sleeve from the first configuration to the second configuration and, thereafter, maintain the sleeve in the expanded configuration. The pipe seal includes sealing structure disposed on an outer surface of the sleeve, and which is compressed against the inner wall of a pipe to be repaired in the second configuration of the sleeve.

    摘要： A method and means for repairing the junction of a main and lateral pipe are provided. A repair assembly includes a launcher device, a bladder assembly surrounding the launcher device, and a liner assembly surrounding the bladder assembly. The bladder assembly is frangibly connected to the launcher device to maintain the position of the bladder assembly relative to the launcher device during transport and positioning of the assembly. Likewise, the liner assembly, which includes main and lateral liner members, is frangibly connected to the bladder assembly. The frangible connections allow the position of the repair assembly to be maintained. The frangible connections can be broken, such as by inflation and/or tearing or pulling apart of the components of the repair assembly. Thus, the invention provides a way to mitigate the movement of components of the repair assembly during transport and positioning of the repair assembly.

    摘要： A method and apparatus for exhausting steam in steam curing a cured-in-place liner that avoids directing the steam toward a house or building in communication with a pipeline in need of repair. One embodiment includes the use of a liner, a bladder, and an exhaust hose operatively connected to the bladder. A resinous material capable of curing and hardening is applied to the liner. The bladder presses the liner against the pipeline. The end of the steam exhaust hose connected to the bladder is positioned on the interior of the bladder and the opposite end of the steam house is positioned outside the bladder to direct steam away from the house or building as steam is introduced inside the bladder to assist in curing the resinous material.
