The present invention is a method that comprises (1) monitoring the specific engine parameter(s) of interest, or in the alternative, predicting those parameter(s) from other engine inputs for a crosshead diesel engine; (2) calculating from said parameter(s) or input(s) the amount of performance enhancer(s), base lubricant or alternatively formulated lubricant that need be added to the engine's base lubricant; and (3) modifying said base lubricant with said performance enhancers, additional base lubricant or alternatively formulated lubricant before introduction the combination into said monitored part or location.

The method may additionally include creating a flowpath within the fluid production pump. An initial volume of the diluted lubricant may be circulated within the flowpath to allow the diluted lubricant to react with components of the fluid production pump and form a protective barrier on the components of the fluid production pump. The method may further comprise repeatedly introducing a periodic volume of diluted lubricant into the fluid production pump according to a predefined lubrication schedule.

    摘要: An oil blending system for a marine diesel two-stroke engine and/or generator comprises a blender having at least one inlet for receiving a lubrication oil and at least one other component and at least one outlet for outputting a mixed lubrication oil composition to the engine or generator. A blender controller is configured to receive parameter data on the current lubrication oil status used in the engine or generator and receive parameter data on the current engine and/or generator status. The blender controller is also configured to automatically determine whether the currently used lubrication oil is within a predetermined parameter range based on the current engine and/or generator status. If the current lubrication oil is outside a predetermined parameter threshold, the blender controller is configured to determine a new lubrication oil composition for the engine or generator.
