    摘要: This disclosure is related to devices, systems, and techniques for outputting an alarm signal in response to detecting a leak in a water heater device. For example, a water heater device includes a leak sensor, an intermittent pilot light, and a circuit. The circuit includes processing circuitry configured to receive, from the leak sensor, an electrical signal including information indicative of a leak in the water heater device, activate, based on the electrical signal including information indicative of the leak, an alarm device, where the alarm device is powered for at least a period of time by a power source, where the power source is configured to receive energy from a thermoelectric device, and maintain an amount of energy stored by the power source so that the amount of energy is sufficient for the power source to supply energy to the alarm device.

The tankless water heater includes a housing, a water inlet and outlet ports, a heater assembly located within the housing and defining a water flow path having a heating element located therein and being coupled to the water inlet and outlet ports. A flow sensing device measures the water's flow condition between the water inlet and outlet ports. The water heater further includes a leak detection system having a water collection area defined by a portion of the housing, a water sensor configured to detect the presence of water in the collection area and being coupled to a water stoppage valve that is moveable between an open position and a closed position in response to a signal from the water sensor indicating water being present in the water collection area.

    摘要: A failsafe hydrocarbon-based gas (HBG) leak detection (HLD) and mitigation (HLM) system/method for use in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems that incorporates a hydrocarbon gas sensor (HGS), sensor signal conditioner (SSC), alarm status indicator (ASI), and digital control processor (DCP) is disclosed. The HGS detects ambient hydrocarbon gas (AHG) and presents a hydrocarbon sensor voltage (HSV) to the SSC. The DCP and SSC form a closed control loop (CCL) in which the SSC electrical characteristics are adjusted by the DCP such that the HSV is continuously and dynamically recalibrated to account for background HBG levels, changes in ambient air conditions, HGS manufacturing tolerances, and other field-specific operational conditions that impact the HGS detection capabilities. The DCP is configured to log alarms to the ASI if a HGS HBG leak is detected and optionally shutdown gas flow to one or more HBG target (HBT) system components.
