The follower has a surface portion which engages the last cartridge in the stack. 摘要： A projectile launcher has a drive mechanism for rotating a rotary magazine. The drive mechanism including a drive shaft fixed for rotation with the magazine about the axis. The drive shaft has a plurality of grooves. A detent member is in engagement with the drive shaft. Relative axial movement between the detent member and the drive shaft causes rotation of the drive shaft and thus the magazine, about the axis, without movement of the drive shaft an axial direction.

摘要： An ammunition magazine and gun/magazine system in which the magazine comprises an outer housing having a substantially cylindrical inner wall surface. An inner support member is mounted within the housing and has a substantially cylindrical outer wall surface which is concentric and opposing said inner wall surface of said housing. The outer wall surface and the inner wall surface form a gap between them. A helical ramp is disposed within the gap and has a concentric axis to the inner wall surface and said outer wall surface. The helical ramp forms a helical gap within the gap, which is configured to receive a plurality of cartridges such that a longitudinal axis of each cartridge is oriented radially of the inner wall surface within the helical gap. The magazine also includes a drive mechanism for advancing the cartridges along the helical ramp.

摘要： A magazine filled with ammunition that can be quickly and easily attached to and detached from a firearm. It has a snail-shaped housing with a laterally offset chimney section that has an outlet port at its top end for feeding the ammunition into the firearm. The magazine is capable of being attached to the firearm at two 180 degree separated positions to accommodate a left or right handed person. There is an annular chamber in the housing of the magazine and it contains a spring-loaded drum. A pair of laterally spaced cog gears are mounted on the drum for capturing ammunition shells and transporting them along a circular axis until they reach the vertical linear axis of the chimney section. A follower assembly pushes the ammunition shells up through the chimney section. A shell retainer unit is mounted in the chimney section for preventing shells from exiting its outlet port when the magazine is detached from the firearm. The shell retainer unit is deactivated by a depressor member that moves downwardly when the magazine is attached to the firearm.

摘要： An ammunition container, especially a drum magazine, is subdivided by side walls into a plurality of sector-shaped compartments. Within the ammunition container there is located a cartridge belt, and protruding into each compartment is a loop of such cartridge belt. Each loop of the cartridge belt consists of two loop portions which bear against the side walls of the drum magazine. By means of magnets, located between the side walls of the drum magazine and the loop portions of the cartridge belt, the cartridges are secured against unintentional shifting.

摘要： A cartridge feed system for use in connection with automatic guns which utilizes a pair of rotating drums adjacent respective breech openings of the gun. Each drum carries a plurality of radially arranged cartridges held in multi-cartridge clips. The cartridges are fed one at a time into a selected breech opening by a feed mechanism activated by the reciprocating movement of the bolt carrier of the gun and by a spring-loaded feeder-adapter adjacent the breech. An indexing system allows the drums to be automatically selectively rotated to bring new clips into position adjacent a breech opening.
