    摘要: A scope mount assembly is provided including a scope mount having a reference axis and a level indicator rotatably joined with the scope mount. The level indicator can be rotatable from a stored mode, where a level indicator axis is transverse to the reference axis, to an extended mode, where the level indicator axis is transverse to the reference axis, and the level indicator projects laterally away from the reference axis. The assembly can include a first magnet that magnetically secures the level indicator in the stored mode, and a second magnet that magnetically secures the level indicator in the extended mode. A user rearward of the mount can view the laterally extending level indicator when the level indicator is in the extended mode, and optionally when the level indicator is in the stored mode, to confirm the level of the scope and any weapon to which it is mounted.

    摘要: A cant indication apparatus includes a spirit level, at least one light receiving optical fiber, and at least one light transmitting and cant indicating optical fiber. The spirit level includes a first fluid with at least one of a first light transmittance or absorbance, and a second fluid with at least one of a second light transmittance or absorbance. A position of a bubble formed by the second fluid in the first fluid indicates at least an uncanted orientation and a canted orientation. The at least one light receiving optical fiber includes a light receiving end, and a spirit level connection end proximate to the spirit level. The at least one light transmitting and cant indicating optical fiber includes a spirit level connection end proximate to the spirit level, and an orientation indication end. Illumination through the orientation indication end indicates the bubble is in the uncanted orientation.

    摘要: An electronic indicator on a see-through optical scope indicates whether an optical system is canted. The indicator may include illuminable visual indicators positioned on opposite sides of a field of view through the optical scope. The indicator may be visual, haptic, or aural. The visual indicator may include one or more LEDs positioned on the periphery of the field of view, and may be optically coupled to an appropriate position on the face of the reticle using a suitable waveguide. The LEDs are coupled to a microprocessor which is, in turn, coupled to a solid-state electronic inclinometer that is incorporated into the internal structure of the optical system. The microprocessor is configured to selectively illuminate one or more of the visual indicators based on the output of the inclinometer, thereby indicating how the reticle is canted, if at all.

In one example, the leveling indicator is an engraved line which extends longitudinally along the length of the scope. The scope is manipulated such that the leveling indicator is properly aligned relative to a mount. The system and method results in a level scope which reduces canted angles and increases accuracy.

    摘要: A device comprised of bubble level inserted into and secured within a cavity located above the rifle grip and behind the barrel to facilitate the measurement and compensation of the rifle's cant while lining up the rifle's sights. The device is precision machined to allow the bubble to be aligned with the axis of the barrel to produce a true “zero-cant” condition. Graduation markings are placed on either left or right of the bubble level to allow the user to better judge the relative degree of cant. A light source is placed adjacent to the bubble level to illuminate cant for a shooter in a dark environment. Methods of using the embedded cant indicator for precision shooting are presented.

The apparatus further includes a light receiving optical fiber having a light receiving end and a spirit level connection end, said optical fiber spirit level connection end connected to said first surface of said spirit level whereupon said spirit level bubble is nearest said spirit level connection end of said light receiving optical fiber when said spirit level is in an uncanted orientation. The apparatus further includes a light transmitting and cant indicating optical fiber having a spirit level connection end and an orientation indication end, said optical fiber spirit level connection end connected to said second surface so as to be in substantial optical alignment with said optical fiber spirit level connection of said light receiving optical fiber, said orientation end illumination indicating at least one of a canted orientation and an uncanted orientation.
