The present invention relates to an electronic dart machine for displaying a point of a corresponding part in an area hit by a dart, using an LED. The present invention provides an electronic dart machine including: a dart target part, which has the shape of a board having multiple divided target areas and includes a sensor means for detecting the location of a target area hit by a dart; an LED display part positioned at a location corresponding to each target area along the periphery of the dart target part; and a controller for controlling an output display of each LED module by preset control logic, recognizing the location of the target area hit by the dart, through the sensor means, and producing a dart hitting result by linking a content of the output display of the LED module with the location of the target area hit by the dart.

A dart game is shown having an automatic player change feature that is implemented by software wherein the software discriminates between dart hit impacts and non-dart hit impacts on the scoring segments of a dart head. The dart game includes a controller that determines the occurrence of an event representing the actuation of a scoring segment of the dart head. The controller determines whether a scoring segment is actuated by a dart hit impact or a non-dart hit impact by monitoring the time that the scoring segment remains actuated. If the scoring segment is actuated for only a short, but stable period of time, the impact is determined to be a dart hit. However, if the scoring segment is actuated for a longer period of time, the impact is determined to be a non-dart hit impact. The controller is responsive to the occurrence of a predetermined number of dart hit impacts and/or detected missed darts to automatically generate a player change signal to eliminate the need for a player to manually actuate a switch to signal the start of the next player's turn.

The target assembly has a plurality of individual scoring blocks. Each block has at least one stem rearwardly protruding towards the circuit board. A conductor point and a buffer ring are provided at the back end of the stem. The buffer ring spaces the conductor point from the contact point. When a dart is thrown on the dartboard the buffer ring deforms engaging the conductor point with the contact point.

There is disclosed herein an improved target arrangement for providing a preselected indicating signal upon impact of a projectile upon particular portions of the target. A plurality of target rings, each having a projective impingeable area, are pivotally mounted in a spaced apart relationship so that apertures in the first and all intermediate target rings provide a projectile passageway therethrough. A device to stop the target is provided behind each target ring to limit the pivotal angular movement of the target ring when that particular target ring is struck by a projectile. The pivotal motion of each of the target rings is highly damped, and when the target ring contacts the stop device there is generated an indicating signal unique to that particular target ring so that it may be easily determined which target ring was struck by the projectile.
