摘要: This task is solved according to the invention by a design corresponding to the characteristic of the claim. The inert insertion according to the invention has the shape of a cylinder with a cone or truncated cone-shaped extension whereby the transition from cylinder to extension takes place without break. The inert insertion is to be arranged in the explosive of the shaped charge oriented such that it points with its free end tapering to the cone tip or top surface, respectively, of the truncated cone in the direction to the primer charge and correspondingly with its cylindrical part in the direction to the lining of the shaped charge. This inert insertion from cylinder and cone or truncated cone, respectively, has been shown to be especially favorable in comparison to the well-known forms of inert insertion. The effect of shaped charge rounds equipped with it on modern multiplate targets was significantly better than those of charges with inert insertions of conventional form.

In a demolition unit, a closed container, an explosive charge in said container, and a solid projectile plate of substantial thickness secured to the top wall of said container, said explosive charge comprising a center core portion in contact with said projectile plate for forming a shock wave when detonated to propel said projectile plate toward said target, and an annular portion concentric about said core and forming an annular shaped charge axially spaced rearwardly of said projectile plate and collapsible upon detonation to augment the explosive effect of said center core portion.

摘要: A shaped lens for minimizing differences in time of arrival at the output surface of an explosive assembly. The lens is plano-convex with the convex shape oriented towards the explosive charge. The lens becomes monotonically thicker as the center of the lens is radially approached from the edge, according to a formula accounting for the detonation velocity of the explosive and velocity of the shockwave through the lens. The lens is preferably incorporated into a test fixture using a liquid explosive, such as nitromethane. The test fixture may be assembled on site, at the test location.
