摘要： A projectile includes a stabilizing band mounted on a rear projectile portion and having a folded state and a deployed state and a fuze assembly accommodated in the projectile. The fuze assembly includes a firing pin carrier supported for motion parallel to the longitudinal axis of the projectile; a firing pin secured to the firing pin carrier; a slide supported for motion transversely to the projectile axis and having a safety position and a firing position; and a detonator mounted on the slide. The detonator is out of alignment with the firing pin in the safety position of the slide and is in alignment with the firing pin in the firing position of the slide. A force-transmitting component is attached to the stabilizing band and the slide for moving the slide from the safety position into the firing position by a force generated by a motion of the stabilizing band from its folded state into its deployed state.

摘要： An igniter system for a flare that includes a housing, a slider assembly, and a piston assembly. The housing includes two ignition portals for holding ignition pellets. The slider assembly is disposed within the housing, and includes two sliders and a spring. Each slider corresponds to an ignition portal, and the two sliders communicate with the spring. The slider assembly has an armed position and a safe position, the armed position with the sliders uncovering the ignition portals and allowing conflagrant communication between the ignition pellets and flare grain, while the safe position with the sliders covering the ignition portal and not allowing conflagrant communication between the ignition pellets and flare grain. The piston assembly communicates with the housing. The piston assembly, when activated, can cause the slider assembly to be in the armed position.

摘要： A mortar fuse includes a fan wheel rotated in response to motion of the mortar fuse after the mortar has been launched. The fan wheel rotates a helix on which an activation wheel is mounted. The activation wheel moves in a path along the axis of the helix in response to rotation of the helix and eventually impacts against, and pierces, an acid container. Battery acid flows from the container and into battery cells, to energize the battery. The activation wheel includes a magnetic material. A coil is disposed along the path of travel of the activation wheel so that electric energy is generated in the coil as the magnetic activation wheel moves therepast. The electric energy operates a counter which controls a time function of the mortar fuse.
