    摘要: A method and apparatus for protecting and arming fuses in a projectile to satisfy safety requirements and to initiate ignition with only minimal delay. In accordance with the method, after launch of a projectile, behind a cap having a central inlet opening a safety device of a turbine/ignition pin unit is released and the impeller thereof is subjected to ram pressure. The ram pressure displaces the turbine/ignition pin unit into a front position, to act as impact detector. In a device constructed in accordance with the invention, the turbine/ignition pin unit has a screw thread on its shank and is screwed into a threaded bushing so that the ram pressure displaces the unit, against the direction of flow into the front position. On impact, the rear end of the unit acts as a percussion needle and initiates an ignition chain.

    摘要: A grenade device for use with and for ejection from an artillery shell is ovided. The device includes a stabilizing propeller and a grenade body. The propeller has two opposite blades disposed on opposite sides of a rotation axis. Each blade has an upper tilted portion and a lower substantially flat portion and a connecting return bend tip portion. Each such portion has a leading edge and a trailing edge. Each upper tilted portion has a transverse angle of attack. The upper tilted portions have a common longitudinal upper projected axis. The lower flat portions also have a common longitudinal lower projected axis. The common longitudinal upper projected axis and the common longitudinal lower projected axis form a projected displacement angle therebetween. The propeller is made from a flexible metal or fabric ribbon. The blades are folded in a nested arrangement before descent. During descent, the blades unfold to their overall aerodynamic shape. The propeller has a windmill type of rotation during descent. The grenade body may have an alternator as part of an electronic fuze, which is connected to a shaft, that is connected to the propeller coaxially therewith along the rotation axis for energizing the alternator.

    摘要: The nose portion of a missile having a ram air turbine for driving an electric generator for supplying electric power to the electric circuits of the missile, especially of its fuse, is designed in a special manner in order to provide, at high missile speeds, a throttling of the air flow, whereby the speed of rotation of the turbine may be kept within reasonable limits. Thus, the air inlet is divided in a plurality of inlet ducts arranged as a wreath around the foward end of the missile. Further, the outlet openings are forwardly directed and co-operate with the shock waves from the acute forward end of the missile and from an annular edge surrounding the wreath of inlets but lying radially inside the outlet openings.

    摘要: A centrifugal clutch for transmitting rotary motion from a first rotating shaft to a second rotatable member, only when the first rotating shaft has an angular speed of a value between predetermined upper and lower angular speeds, including a first circular plate fixed to the rotating shaft. A pair of spring biased members having shoulders formed on the outer edges thereof are pivoted to the circular plate and are adapted to move outwardly during rotation at a sufficient angular speed. The first circular plate is received by four arcuate shoes radially slidably mounted on a second circular plate and include inwardly extending projections formed thereon adapted to engage the shoulders. After rotational speed increases beyond a predetermined upper limit, the shoes move outwardly relative to the plate and disengage the clutch.
