    摘要: A temperature verification device employs a coiled bimetallic strip having its temperature responsive, rotatable outer end engaged with an indicator flag which is connected with a finger-like projection spaced outwardly from the indicator flag. A stop member is provided in the path of the distal end of the finger-like member and is adapted to engage the distal end when the flag member is moved in one direction, for example, clockwise. Movement of the flag member in the opposite direction can be achieved because the resilient finger-like member will slide past the stop member. All of the structure is confined in a casing having an opening through which the flag indicator may be observed under certain conditions. The stop member can be positioned at any selected location about the periphery of the casing to function as a holding means for the flag indicator at a preselected temperature threshold. Reversal of the orientation of the bimetallic strip permits the temperature threshold to be a maximum temperature or a minimum temperature.

    摘要: Tamper proof apparatus for verification that a critical temperature has been reached or exceeded includes a permanently sealed casing and cap containing a thermal element connected to a rotatable cam having a temperature indicator extending outwardly therefrom adapted to rest under a transparent window in the cap when critical temperature has been reached. Maximum and minimum temperature stops on the cap prevent movement of the indicator beyond preselected positions. An opening through the cap engages a removable shipping pin cooperating with either the maximum or minimum temperature stop to prevent movement of the indicator during shipment or storage. A locking spring connected to the cap traverses the lateral surface of the cam until the spring engages a shoulder formed in the cam. The shoulder and spring have, respectively, a first spur and a second spur that engage in permanently locked position when a critical temperature has been reached. As described heretofore, the cam, spring, and maximum and minimum temperature stops can be arranged, prior to sealing the cap and casing to indicate that either a maximum or a minimum temperature has been reached. Another embodiment has two separate spring mounting positions, and two separate cam shoulders, which alternatively can be arranged, prior to sealing, to verify that either a maximum or a minimum has been reached.

    摘要: A device for indicating the maximum reading of a measuring instrument of the type having a needle turnable over a dial marked with a graduated scale extending for more than 360.degree. includes an auxiliary needle mounted on a pivot pin carried by a transparent screen covering the dial and lightly frictionally engaged with this pin so that it can be turned, for zero setting, by rotation of the pin by means of a knob attached to the outer end thereof. The auxiliary needle is provided with engagement means by which it is engaged by the main needle upon advancing movement, but which allows the main needle to pass the auxiliary needle should it require to do so, having reached a maximum position more than 360.degree. from the zero of the scale so that, upon returning to zero, it passes the auxiliary needle which remains fixed at the maximum position reached. The engagement means comprises a resilient latch including a leaf spring engaged by the main needle in its advancing movement, but resiliently deflected by the main needle as it passes the auxiliary needle in its return movement.
