    Abstract: A spectrum analyzer comprises a mixer, which mixes complex conjugate input signal v*(t) into a base band signal x(t) and a resolution filter, which filters the base band signal for narrow band. In accordance with two aspects of the invention, the resolution filter has either a complex pulse response hused(t)=C1·e−C2·t2·e−j·C3·t2 or a real pulse response hused(t)=C4·e−C5·t2, in which C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5 are constants.

    Abstract: A spectrum analyzer that incorporates a YTO (YIG tuned oscillator) as a sweep frequency local oscillator and a YTF (YIG tuned filter) as a frequency pre-selector for an incoming signal and improves a C/N (carrier to noise) ratio with low cost. The spectrum analyzer includes a YTO first local oscillator which is swept in response to a ramp signal, a base band block having a first frequency mixer for producing a first intermediate frequency (IF) signal and a second frequency mixer for producing a second IF signal, a high band block having a YTF frequency preselector for selecting frequency components in the input signal in response to the ramp signal and a high band frequency mixer for producing the second IF signal by mixing the input signal through the YTF with the first local signal, and a local signal mode switch for either directly providing the first local signal to the high band frequency mixer or through a frequency divider which divides the frequency of the first local signal by a predetermined division ratio. The YTO has a sweep frequency range which is 1/2 of a sweep frequency range of the YTF, and the division ratio of the frequency divider is two (2).

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an electro-optic sampling oscilloscope. The delay circuit in the electro-optic sampling oscilloscope comprises a delay time detecting circuit, a regulation time determining circuit, a counter circuit and a delay regulating circuit. The delay time detecting circuit detects in the trigger signal a value corresponding to the delay time of a reference clock from a reference clock generating circuit. The regulation time determining circuit determines a regulation time based on the value detected by the delay time detecting circuit so that the regulation time is an integer multiple of the reference clock. The counter circuit is triggered by the trigger signal to count the reference clock through a specific value. The delay regulating circuit employs a signal related to the regulation time from the regulation time determining circuit, to delay the signal output from the counter circuit by the regulation time.
