The present invention concerns a hinge for the hinging of spectacle temples, which allows the automatic closing of the temples on the same front of spectacle which has been removed from the head or which features one or both temples in open or wide-open position. A hinging element is provided attached to the endpiece of the front, which is cam-shaped with an eccentric profile progressively increasing from its internal position to its external position and on which a follower runs. The follower is guided in an axial hole 23 in the temple 20 to be hinged and together with an elastic medium which acts axially with the hinge pin while the follower works on an inclined plane produced by the shape of the cam to help the automatic return of the temple 20 in the closing phase.

The invention concerns an elastic articulating component for an optical frame, comprising a case (1), a slide (3) arranged inside the case, a locking socket (11) which itself mounted around the slide. The socket has an elastic tab (1) to block the socket relative to the case (1) when the latter is moved relative to an articulating knuckle (13) against the compression of a spring (7). The invention is characterised in that the case (1) has a housing (5) for guiding the slide (3) in translation inside the case, and the elastic tab (19) is inserted into an aperture (21) of the case (10) emerging into the housing (5). This arrangement enables to reduce play when the slide is being guided in translation inside the case and provides greater facility for maintaining the tab in the case. Advantageously, it enables for reduce the width of the case, thereby enhancing the aesthetic appearance of the frame.

An end of an endpiece to be mounted to a lens is bent, and an endpiece part in a polygonal shape is rotatably mounted to the end. A central portion of the endpiece is pressed against one side of the endpiece part in a normal state. An end of the temple in contact with a user's head is fixed to the endpiece part. As the temple is opened, the endpiece part rotates and the one side then turns from the state of being in contact with the central portion of the endpiece, generating working force so as to return to the initial state and then generating the elastic force in the temple thereby.

Disclosed is an improved hinge structure for joining a temple and a front or lens rim together in eyeglasses. It comprises two semicolon-like rotary pieces each having a step-like circular extension integrally connected to its triangular block. The step-like circular extension has a through hole made therein. The semicolon-like rotary pieces are so combined that their step-like circular extensions are laid on each other, with a flat washer sandwiched therebetween. The semicolon-like rotary pieces are joined together by inserting a pivot pin in the through holes of the step-like extensions with another flat washer laid on one side of the so combined rotary pieces, and with the outward-curved resilient washer laid the other side of the so combined rotary pieces. The pivot pin is swaged against the so combined rotary pieces. The triangular blocks of the rotary pieces are to be fixed to the temple and the front or lens rim of the frame.
