    摘要: The present invention relates to a developer comprising a developing agent and a polyalkyleneimine antioxidant being formed by the condensation of a number of alkyleneimine units and having the following formula (I): 1 wherein R1, R2 and R3 independently represent an unsubstituted or substituted alkylene group or R2 may be H; x and y independently represent an integer from 1 to 39,999; the sum of x and y represents an integer from 10 to 40,000; and wherein the amine groups of the antioxidant have been partially oxidized with hydrogen peroxide or a compound capable of generating hydrogen peroxide, prior to the introduction of the developing agent. In a preferred embodiment, the antioxidant has been partially oxidized such that the amount of hydroxylammonium groups formed is less than half the total equivalent of the original amine before the addition of the developing agent. The developer may optionally comprise an alkaline buffer.

    摘要: A multi-part color developing kit includes at least two parts (or solutions) of photochemical compositions that can be mixed to provide a color developing composition useful for obtaining color photographic images. A first aqueous solution is formulated with a color developing agent in free base form, an antioxidant for the color developing agent, an inorganic base, a triazinylstilbene optical brightening agent, an chemical base and a water-miscible or water-soluble hydroxy-substituted, straight-chain organic solvent. A second aqueous solution is formulated with a buffering agent, the same or different chemical base and a phosphonic acid metal ion sequestering agent. Both solutions have a pH and homogeneity to provide a clear color developing composition that is safer for use and disposal.

    摘要: Rapid development of silver bromoiodide color negative photographic films and formation of high quality negative images suitable for scanning to produce display images of excellent quality is made possible by a novel developer solution composition and method of development. The solution is characterized by containing, in addition to the color developer compound and conventional photographic developer solution components, a water soluble pyrrolidone polymer, a high concentration of sulfite ion and a low concentration, or the absence of, bromide ion. In the novel method the developer composition contacts the exposed film at elevated temperature, e.g., 40 to 66null C., for a short development time, e.g., 20 to 90 seconds. The developed image has image quality suitable for scanning and digital manipulation to produce a digital record for forming a color display image of high quality.

    摘要: A method for deriving a color negative film developer composition and processing conditions for developing a photographic film image which is optimized for subsequent digital scanning and digital image file manipulation, which allows for optimum rapid development processing of the film is disclosed. The process includes identifying at least one independent variable that has a first order effect on the density of at least one of the red, green, and blue dye images of the developed image, selecting a desired range of values for the independent variables identified, formulating an experimental design that includes desired independent variables over the desired range of values, performing the experiment to obtain statistically significant values for desired dependent variables, applying the values to a mathematical model capable of providing a formula for optimizing responses to the dependent variables, and using the formula to identify desired optimal developer composition and processing conditions resulting in an developed image in which the subsequent required digital scanning and digital image file manipulation is reduced. Also disclosed is a method for providing a color display image including developing an imagewise exposed color silver halide negative working film having at least two color records, with a color developer solution composition and under development process conditions derived in accordance with the above process, scanning the developed film to form density representative signals for the at least two color records, and digitally manipulating the density representative signals thus formed to correct either or both interimage interaction and gamma mismatches among said at least two color records to produce a digital record providing a display image having desired aim color and tone scale reproduction, such that the digital manipulation is minimized.
