    摘要: A device for the step-by-step motion of a setting carriage of a calculating machine operated in the course of a division operation. A first bell crank is mounted on a stationary shaft for rotation by a rod for operating the machine. The shaft loosely extends through an elongated slot in a second bell crank having one arm operably connected to a swingable arm of the first bell crank and connected by a tension spring to a machine frame and another arm swingable into engagement with one of stops on the carriage. The spring biases the second bell crank so that the latter, when actuated by said first bell crank, is first rotated about the stationary shaft until said another arm engages and depresses one of the stops and then is moved linearly to shift the carriage a step.

    摘要: A power-driven calculating machine with a shiftable multiplier register containing a multiplier, a counter and a setting pin carriage with a multiplicand, which includes a presetting means connectable with the setting pin carriage by actuation of a preset operating means after insertion of the multiplicand in the setting pin carriage but before operation of the multiplication means, said presetting means being capable upon adjustment of the setting pin carriage after the multiplying operation, of stopping the carriage in the decade position occupied after insertion of the multiplicand but before the multiplying operation, and operable by preselection operating means for shifting said setting pin carriage so that in the shifting direction after insertion of the product in the counter but before a definite number of decade positions are produced by adding and subtracting means so that the multiplicand can be positively or negatively added to the product in the counter in a definite decade position in relation to said product. The machine will be able to permit the multiplication of two factors by one another to obtain a product and then positively or negatively add one factor to the product in a position which has been decade shifted a definite number of steps in relation to the product.

A link mechanism to be actuated by the last step of the tabulating stroke of a carriage in division operation is provided to cause the clutch to operatively connect the motor shaft with the main machine shaft only after the completion of the tabulating stroke for thereby ensuring that a sufficient safety time is provided between the completion of the tabulating stroke and the start of the operation of the machine.

    摘要: There is provided a rod actuating a device for changing-over the calculator from subtraction state to addition state, and when the dividend becomes negative after any subtraction has been completed, the calculator is automatically changed over to addition state and said rod is brought in connection with a main driving shaft only when a lever which operates in the case of a subtraction state and another lever which operates in the state where the dividend becomes negative are both operated, whereby it is made possible to change over correctly the calculator from addition state to subtraction state and vice versa without causing reestablishment of the addition state when the calculator is once changed over to addition state. Furthermore, a lever rotative in response to movement of a rack plate belonging to the uppermost figure and a complementcalculation lever engageable with a rack plate belonging to the first figure are provided, said former lever being engaged with said latter lever and operation of said latter lever being locked by a coupling member which operates in the case of division, whereby it is made possible to carry out division without calculating out any complement, because the complementcalculation lever is locked in the case of adding operation.
