摘要： In a personal computer, preferably a lap-top-type personal computer, first latch members (or sections) and second latch members (or sections) are provided on a bezel surrounding a periphery of a keyboard. The first and second latch members serve to support one side of the keyboard. By having a bottom surface of the second latch members made a sloping surface, when a user pushes the keyboard upward with a finger from below the keyboard slides backward at a slope without interfering with the first latch members. As such, the front part of the keyboard is released from the latching by the first latch members and the second latch members and can be easily and simply removed.

摘要： A data entry device, including a plurality of sensing devices worn on a user's fingers, and a flat light-weight keypad for transmitting signals indicative of data entry keyboard functions to a computer or other data entry device. The sensing devices include sensors are used to detect unique codes appearing on the keys of the keypad or to detect a signal, such as a radar signal, generated by the signal generating device mounted to the keypad. Alternatively, sensing devices may be mounted to the keypad to determine the location of a user's finger upon selection of a keypad key. Pressure sensitive switches, one associated with each finger contain resistive elements and optionally sound generating means and are electrically connected to the sensors so that when the switches are pressed they activate a respective sensor and also provide a resistive force and sound comparable to keys of a conventional keyboard. Alternatively, a flat fully functional keyboard or touchscreen, which does not provide the user with significant tactile or auditory indication of a user's selection of a key, can be used and pressure sensitive switches containing resistive elements and optionally sound generating means are mounted to the user's fingers.

摘要： A keyboard for a hand-held computer. In one embodiment, the keyboard includes first and second portions that are removably coupled to each other. The second portion can be removably coupled to one part of the first portion to block access to input keys of the first portion, and can be removably attached to another part of the first portion to allow access to the input keys, forming a full-size keyboard for a hand-held device. The second portion can be reversible to allow access to input keys on either a top or bottom surface of the second portion, and can also be pivotable relative to the first portion about an axis that is generally perpendicular to an upper surface of the first portion.

摘要： A keyboard includes a plurality of keys arranged in at least one continuous row and formed of a key member and a cover member. These members are combined by inserting positioning pins of the cover member into holes of the key member. Curved portions are provided at a plurality of positions in side support portions of the key member. Even if the cover member and the key member are produced with manufacturing errors in alignment, the curved portions may be deformed to prevent misalignment between openings on the cover member and key top portions on the key member when the positioning pins are inserted into the holes. Elastically deformable arms extending from the side support portions of the key member support the key tops and enable the key tops to move up and down.

A second character key from the keypad (12) is received, wherein a second set of characters is associated with the second character key. A character from the first set of characters is combined with a character from the second set of characters. A set of alternative n-grams is displayed, derived from the step of combining, in descending order based on a probability of frequency of use in a given language. When an alternative n-gram is detected as being actively highlighted, the n-gram is locked to create a locked n-gram and characters associated with subsequent character keys vary in their combinations with respect to the locked n-gram.
