摘要: In accordance with a feature of the invention, a hierarchy of multi-digraph layers may be constructed on top of an input multi-digraph. Each layer represents a multi-digraph obtained from an equivalence relation defined on the edge set of the input multi-digraph. In accordance with a further feature of the invention, each subgraph is small enough to be represented visually in a variety of novel ways.

摘要: Efforts are made to construct a digital index that represents properties or the appearance of portions of an image so as to automatically rediscover in it a sample of the image during a subsequent search, after having set up a sample index in the same way and having compared the indices while searching for similarities. In this invention, the mesh dividing up the image or the sample into portions is founded on points of interest and is not uniform, and the index is made up of information coming, for each portion, from this same portion or from a specified assembly of neighboring portions. Furthermore, a redundant mesh is proposed (FIG. 9A) in order to describe the image several times and to attenuate the consequences of any omissions from the points of interest (E) on the other modeling (FIG. 9B).

摘要: A computer system which includes a central processing unit, a bus, and a memory store coupled to the central processing unit that includes a psuedo 3D rendering mechanism. Typically, the rendering mechanism is loaded in the memory store, but can be implemented in an application's specific integrated circuit further coupled to the central processing unit via the bus. The psuedo 3D rendering mechanism is used to generate a psuedo 3D rendered virtual image using only two dimensional prerendered selected views of 3D objects to be displayed. As the viewing orientation shifts from point to point, an adequate three-dimensional rendering is provided based on these selected views. These selected views are designed for display on a display device further connected to the computer system.

摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus that permits the introduction of customized compositing techniques into an application by a developer. A Composite interface and a CompositeContext interface are defined. Custom compositing operations can be defined by implementing these interfaces. A Composite object provides a CompositeContext object that holds the state and performs the compositing work. Multiple CompositeContext objects can be created from one Composite object to maintain separate states in a multi-threaded environment. An object implementing the Composite interface can be set as rendering state on a graphics object that provides rendering methods. This allows arbitrary compositing rules to be used by a developer. In one implementation of the Composite and CompositeContext interfaces, an AlphaComposite class is defined. The AlphaComposite class implements common compositing rules, such as defined by Porter and Duff, for combining source and destination pixels to achieve blending and transparency effects with graphics and images.

摘要: An image color blending processor which does not need any multiplication in an image processing to achieve a semitransparent display and a scaled up display is provided. A small region is constituted of plural pixels adjacent to each other. In each display frame, pixel data of a background image is displayed for a predetermined number of pixels and pixel data of a superimposing image is displayed in the other pixels in the small region in sequence. In the 200% scaled up image in the vertical direction, as an interpolating line, in each display frame, one of the above and below pixel values of the original image is selected alternately and displayed.

摘要: A graphic workstation receives digitized medical images and the user creates textual information that is to be displayed on the images. Instead of overlaying the text, the text data is blended with the image data such that the text appears semi-transparent and when displayed the underlying image data may be seen. The medical image may be fully restored from the blended image by a calculation based upon the blended image, the text data and alpha.

摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus in a data processing system for printing characters. Data received include glyphs for output on an output device, wherein the glyphs are to be output using a selected device font. A list containing all device font supported glyphs is passed to the operating system. Monitoring for unsupported glyphs in the selected device font is performed by the operating system. In response to detecting a glyph unsupported by the selected device font, a backup system font is used to output the glyph to the output device.

摘要: A virtual space using a geometric model for forming a virtual environment is input, nongeometric model object expression data based on a multi-viewpoint image is acquired, geometric information is added to the acquired nongeometric model object expression data, and the nongeometric model object expression data is used as an object arranged or operated in the virtual space using the added geometric information or automatically moving in the space. The same effect as that obtained when the shape data of an object having a very complex shape is generated or reproduced can be easily obtained without generating or reproducing the shape data. In addition, the entire virtual space can be generated without holding an enormous amount of light space data, so that the object can be operated in the three-dimensional space.

摘要: Methods and apparatus to display and scroll hierarchical data. A plurality of parent nodes can be displayed within a first display area, with each displayed parent node of the plurality of parent nodes having at least one child node. A computer can determine that at most one child node for each displayed parent node of the plurality of parent nodes is to be displayed. A child node scrolling instruction can be received. A child node display percentile can be determined based at least in part on the child node scrolling instruction. One child node of each displayed parent node of the plurality of parent nodes can be selected based at least in part on the determined child node display percentile. Each selected one child node of each displayed parent node of the plurality of parent nodes can be displayed in a second display area, with each displayed child node being displayed as associated with the displayed parent node of the displayed child node.

摘要: An image data generating method and apparatus in which, when performing viewing point conversion processing on data of strings of parallax images each made up of plural images containing the parallax information, data of a new string of parallax images can be generated promptly. To this end, a lookup table showing the relation of correspondence between pixels of respective images making up an original string of parallax images and pixels of respective images of a new string of parallax images is prepared at the outset and stored in a lookup table memory 72. The pixel interchanging is effectuated, based on the lookup table, in order to effectuate viewing point conversion processing, to generate the data of the new string of parallax images.
