摘要： The techniques of the present invention are directed towards setting a photonic device into a groove of a substrate, which is then attached to the chip sub-assembly in a way that the resulting optoelectronic package has a low profile and the interconnects between the photonic device and the semiconductor chip are short. The technique involves partially etching a groove in a substrate to allow for positioning of a photonic device within the groove. The photonic device is connected to the chip sub-assembly through interconnects that extend through the thickness of the substrate. The photonic devices are placed on their sides so that the active facets are perpendicular to the main axis of the chip sub-assembly. In this configuration, the optical fibers can be positioned parallel to the CSA top surface, ensuring a low module profile in the process.

摘要： A calling user initiates a telephonic communication with a receiving user by dialing a phone number of the receiving user in his or her address book. The communication is transmitted from the calling user's device to the receiving user's device through a network that is not using Internet protocol or Internet-based, e.g., Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), Internet Protocol (IP), TCP-IP, or Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). After a number of notifications has passed on the receiving user's device and the receiving user is not able to answer the telephonic communication, a local voicemail recorder will be activated to record and store the telephonic communication for later retrieval by the receiving user. The stored communication is identifier by a sequence of string containing at least one of a name, a telephone number, a storage location, a date-time attribute, and a duration associated with the stored communication.

摘要： A flapping fan for cooling electronic devices includes an elongated piezo actuator, two supporting members, two connecting members, and a thin blade. The supporting members are attached to the piezo actuator at its two ends, while the blade is connected to the piezo actuator through the connecting members. When activated by an AC signal, the piezo actuator oscillates around its neutral position, which causes the blade to oscillate. The blade rotates around its leading edge when its direction of motion changes, keeping its angle of incidence lower than ninety degrees. This helps the flapping fan to generate a significant air flow.

摘要： A device and method for the storage and display of dual fingernail lacquer bottles, which uses resilient flexible arms to grasp the bottles. Each clip has two or more resilient arms having a frontal opening which permit the placement of a bottle, such as a fingernail lacquer or treatment bottle, between the resilient arms. The resilient arms provide a tab for alignment of the fingernail lacquer bottles and catches for attachment of an informational card to the device. The resilient flexible arms utilize friction and compressive forces to grasp the bottle, with each resilient arm being made of a flexible material used to grasp the exterior of a bottle.

摘要： An apparatus for a signer to apply a signature to a signature field of an electronic document. A personal electronic device includes a browser application, a screen, and an input unit. A logic activates a web link on the personal electronic device with the browser application to connect the personal electronic device and a remote server via a communications network. A logic presents a signor-side image copy of the electronic document with the signature field on the screen of the personal electronic device. A logic accepts the signature of the signer into the signature field from the input unit of the personal electronic device. And a logic communicates the electronic document containing the signature of the signer to the remote server.
