    摘要: The present invention provides apparatus and methods for providing visual information about a subject of interest. Specifically, the apparatus of the present invention includes a camera and light source for location at a point of interest. Pictures and/or video from the camera is transmitted to a remote location where it may be viewed by an interested party such that the user is not required to be in the vicinity of the area of interest to collect observations. The apparatus may use wireless communication, such as satellite, RF, and/or IR technology to transmit the data from the camera to the remote location. Further, the apparatus may include sensors for sensing characteristics of the environment surrounding.     摘要: A control center continuously monitors a security state of a container through an extended network spanning from a shipper to a consignee. The control center changes the security state responsive to explicit information received from a trusted agent, or implicit information deducted from business logic. A trusted shipper agent sends manifest information from a shipper checkpoint to the data center that includes, for example, container information, shipping route information, and other security information. Trusted monitor agents continuously track the security state from the shipper checkpoint to the origin checkpoint, from the origin checkpoint to a destination checkpoint, and from the destination checkpoint to a consignee checkpoint. A trusted consignee agent sends termination information from the consignee checkpoint to the data center. The checkpoints further comprise site managers to communicate information, gathered by RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) readers from RFID tags on containers, to the control center.

    摘要: Individuals who carry personal transmitters in a particular area are remotely monitored so that such individuals may indicate an emergency. In the event of an emergency (or other event), the individual may activate his or her personal transmitter. The signal sent by the transmitter is then detected by an array of sensors. The sensors are capable of determining a signal strength of the signal from the personal transmitter. A computer console is coupled to the sensors to receive the signal strength indications. The computer console is capable of calculating a location (e.g., within an area of uncertainty around a point location) of the transmitter based on the received signal strengths determined by one or more of the sensors. Emergency services may then be contacted and dispatched automatically or depending on a set of expert rules or depending on user input. Any emergency situation may be constantly monitored so that multiple emergency locations may be indicated and even tracked as the locations of personal transmitters change in response to a dynamically developing emergency.

    摘要: Techniques for initiating direct communication between an emergency medical device, such as an automated external defibrillator (AED) and a safety agency may include detecting an event and contacting the safety agency in response to the detected event and user authorization. For example, the AED may detect an event such as removal of the AED from a mount and alert an operator of the intent to send contact the safety agency. The AED determines whether an override command was received from the operator in a defined amount of time. When the operator does not input an override command, the AED interprets the absence of the override command as user authorization and contacts the safety agency via a communication unit. For instance, the AED may generate an advisory and send the advisory to the safety agency. The initiation of direct communication between the AED and the safety agency by the AED enables the operator to interact with a patient, e.g., perform CPR on the patient.
