    摘要: For tracing objects distributed transmitter stations are provided, each transmitting an activation signal. Tags are attached to objects. The tags receive the activation signals when in an operating area of one of the transmitter stations. The received activation signal causes the tag to transmit a reaction signal. A receiver station receives the reaction signals. Data representing positions of tags in accordance with the received reaction signals are registered. The activation signals each also include a transmitter station code associated to the transmitter station transmitting that signal. The transmitter station codes transmitted by different transmitter stations are mutually different. The reaction signals transmitted by the tags each include the transmitter station code included in the received activation signal that caused the tag to transmit that reaction signal. Data representing positions of tags are registered in accordance with transmitter station codes received from the tags by the receiver station.

When such movement is detected, a signal is sent to a control for the home security system. The vehicle response is received by the control for the home security system and compared to an expected response. If the two match, then the home security system is actuated. The system may be utilized on garage door openers, fences, home locks, etc.

In order to simplify this process the devices are arranged to announce their existence by sound in response to a prompt, such as a handclap. To avoid the announcements being made all at once in an unintelligible manner, the devices interact with each other to order their announcements so that each device announcement is, at least in due course, made uninterrupted by announcements from other devices. Typically, this interaction involves the devices using a collision-detection and back-off protocol applied to the announcements themselves.

    摘要: An apparatus comprising a first identification device, which is attached to a suspect vehicle and a suspect vehicle detection device which is attached to a police vehicle is disclosed. The first identification device contains a first set of data concerning the insurance coverage for the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle detection device obtains the first set of data from the first identification device. The first identification device may be comprised memory in which the first set of data is stored. The first identification device may be attached to a front windshield of the suspect vehicle and a similar second identification device may be attached to a rear windshield of the suspect vehicle. The first set of data may be comprised of an insurance underwriter code corresponding to the insurance underwriter which covers the suspect vehicle, an issue date and an expiration date of an insurance policy covering the suspect vehicle, an insurance policy number of the insurance policy which covers the suspect vehicle, a motor vehicle manufacturer identfication number of the suspect vehicle, the name of the owner of the suspect vehicle, and the suspect vehicle license plate number. The police vehicle may send the first set of data to a verification center along with a request for verification of the first set of data. The verification center may provide a verification signal to the police vehicle in response, and the verification signal may indicate whether the first set of data is valid. The verification center may include a table of information relating to the insurance coverage of a plurality of vehicles. Alternatively or additionally the police vehicle may include a table of data relating to insurance coverage of a plurality of vehicles and a processor. The processor of the police vehicle may compare the first set of data with the table of data in the police vehicle, and may cause an indication to be produced indicating whether the first set of data is contained in the table of data in the police vehicle. The police vehicle may includes a display device for displaing the indication.

Alternatively, an intermediate advisor may advise the technician and be advised by a higher-level advisor.

The central control unit, for activating the response unit and for programming/reprogramming the response unit, utilizes a serial bits stream signal to communicate the programming data and activation data to the response unit. Both the central control unit and the response unit utilize the generation of a square wave for discriminating between a signal as coming from a central control unit from those signals emanating from non-central control unit sources. This signal discrimination capability and signal data carrying capability allow multiple response units to be programmed/reprogrammed to one or more central control units. This programmable/reprogrammable capability gives universal adaptability in that the response unit circuitry/central control circuitry can be incorporated directly into or associated with other goods that previously lacked locating abilities.
