摘要： An emergency signaling device for the hearing impaired provides a strobe light in which the intensity of the emitted light is variable. The emergency signaling device comprises a housing and a reflecting mirror coupled to the housing. A strobe light emitting device adapted to provide a sequence of flashing light is disposed in relation to the reflecting mirror so that the light is distributed in a predetermined pattern. The intensity level emitted by the strobe light emitting device may be varied between at least a first intensity level and a second intensity level. The reflecting mirror provides a polar light distribution of the flashing light. The rate of flashing of the strobe light emitting device may be synchronized with other emergency signaling devices.

摘要： The present invention provides motor vehicle safety enhancement devices which, once activated, are not prematurely deactivated. In an embodiment, an electrically controllable safety device for use by an occupant of a motor vehicle includes a safety enhancer and a controller. The controller and the safety enhancer are electrically coupled to the vehicle's electrical ignition system, so that the controller may only activate the safety enhancer while the motor is on and, once activated, the safety enhancer may only be deactivated by turning the motor off. A stimulator to rouse a sleepy driver of a vehicle is provided including a signal generator capable of rousing the driver and a controller to activate the signal generator. The controller may include a momentary switch, a relay, and a diode.

The push button unit has a manually actuated switch assembly with a first pair of normally open switch contacts adapted to be connected in series with the doorbell chime and a source of electrical power and a second pair of normally open switch contacts, a radio frequency transmitter connected in series with the second pair of switch contacts for generating a radio frequency output signal and a first antenna connected to the transmitter and responsive to the radio frequency output signal for generating the radio frequency wave. The remote unit has a second antenna responsive to the radio frequency wave for generating a radio frequency input signal, a radio frequency receiver connected to the second antenna and responsive to the radio frequency input signal for generating a generator activation signal, and an acoustic generator connected to the receiver and responsive to the generator activation signal for generating the auxiliary acoustic frequency signal. The acoustic generator can be a speaker and the push button unit can include a power supply connected across the first pair of normally open switch contacts for receiving charging current and connected to power the radio frequency transmitter.
