Vehicle simulators assist a rider with balancing a human-supported vehicle (e.g., bicycle, motorcycle, scooter, skateboard, etc.) by laterally displacing two pivot points supporting the vehicle without longitudinally moving the vehicle. The lateral displacement may be human-controlled, and need not require a wheel rolling on a belt or roller. The vehicle simulators feature mechanisms to laterally translate a front portion (e.g., a front wheel) and a rear portion (e.g., a rear wheel) of the vehicle such that a rider may balance the vehicle by steering. Advantageously, embodiments allow the vehicle to be laterally translated such that the rider may balance the vehicle in the same manner as when riding on a road, thereby providing a more realistic experience than prior-art simulators (e.g., stationary bicycle trainers) that do not allow the vehicle to be laterally translated and therefore do not require the rider to balance the vehicle.

The invention relates to a raiser (2) for skidpan practice with motorcycle, comprising a supporting portion (3) with support wheels (5a-c) and a raising portion (6). The raising portion (6) is attachable to the front wheel of the motorcycle in such a way that it allows the front wheel to rotate around a first rotational axis. The raising portion is raisable and lowerable with respect to the supporting portion. The raising portion is rotatable around a second axis of rotation that essentially extends in the direction of motion of the front wheel, allowing the raiser to be used with motorcycles as they lean sideways in curves. A four bar drive link system simulator has a frame assembly, a proximal hinge attachment bracket, a bottom bracket simulator 0, a pair of crank levers, a pair of coupling levers and a pair of pedal levers. The frame assembly has a plurality of guide rails, including at least a proximal hinge adjustment rail, and a frame rail. The proximal hinge attachment bracket is connected to the proximal hinge adjustment rail. The bottom bracket simulator is attached or otherwise connected to the frame simulator rail.

To simulatively implement a retreating movement of a bicycle in a state wherein a rider dismounts from the bicycle. A simulated bicycle includes a steering angle sensor for detecting a steering angle of a handlebar, a momentary type retreating switch provided at a rear lower portion of a saddle, and a monitor for displaying a scene based on a simulated traveling speed, the steering angle and a signal of the retreating switch. When the retreating switch is operated, an image of a bicycle and a person who operates the bicycle to retreat is displayed on the monitor. The retreating switch is operated through a level so that the rider having dismounted from the bicycle can readily manually operate the same.

The load applied to the vehicle body when the vehicle body is made to incline by placing weight on it works to cause the mobile frame to move to the opposite side from the side of inclination.

An exercise device is furnished with an electronic display or a mechanical belt for simulating road conditions. In an embodiment utilizing an electronic display, sensors are used to sense pedaling speed, rotational direction, and displacement of the handlebars. A brake handle producing a signal when actuated is also provided. The signals produced by the sensors are processed by a microprocessor for controlling the lateral position of the exercise bicycle with respect to the scene being displayed and the running speed of the road condition simulation. The microprocessor includes a memory which stores a program for controlling the pedaling resistance of the exercise device. In another embodiment, a belt provided with flat patterns on its surface depicting mock road conditions rotates. The user may control the position of a mock vehicle resting on the belt surface by manipulating the handlebars. The mock vehicle is coupled to the handlebar stem by a right-angle-shaped rod. Pedaling resistance is provided by coupling a multi-pole A.C. induction motor to the pedals.
