摘要:
Systems and processes that use MIDI mapping technology for multiple chord and arpeggio triggering are disclosed, including a multiple chord and arpeggio triggering MIDI mapping system and process that assigns, selects, and records chord and multi-arpeggio functions into a digital audio workstation (DAW) host program or an internalized sequencer and a two-phase multiple chord and time-delayed arpeggio triggering MIDI mapping process for recording a chord progression and enabling multi-arpeggio functions of the chords in the chord progression to be worked on at any time-delayed instance after recording the chord progression. The system divides output from a MIDI controller into chord generators and arpeggiators to allow users to define full chords with a single key selection, while also making immediate or time-delayed single key selections for different arpeggios.

An electronic musical instrument comprising a code generator responsive to the operation of each of the keys for generating a first code indicating a tone pitch and a second code indicating an octave associated with the operated key. A first variable frequency divider is presettable to a first count value as a function of the first code for counting master clock pulses supplied from an oscillator and generating a first divider output when the first count value is reached. A second variable frequency divider is presettable to a second count value as a function of the second code for counting the first divider output and generating a plurality of pulse trains having octave frequency relationship. A digital-to-analog converting means is provided for converting the pulse trains into an analog signal.

A tone generator system for an electronic organ, which incorporates N programmable generators (where N is less than 12, and typically 7) which forms a system having the ability to sound notes of N different nomenclature tones at one time. A microprocessor controls the assignment of particular notes to each of the programmable generators, in accordance with the played keys of the keyboard(s) (and the tab switches, in the event that a partial footage is selected). Each of the programmable generators is connected to a chain of dividers and gates which are also under the control of the microprocessor. The information ascertained by the microprocessor from the keyboard(s) (and the tab switches) is used to control the selection of gates which control the passage of tone signals from appropriate dividers in the chains of dividers to an audio output system. More than one note of a particular nomenclature can be simultaneouly gated from the divider chain of a particular programmable generator.

A musical note oscillator producing notes at musical intervals having high resolution and high frequency stability achieved with an economy of components and control signals. The oscillator may be operated to provide multiple notes simultaneously and independently; and it is described in the context of a musical instrument.

An electronic organ, piano or accordion has a transposing apparatus wherein a voltage-regulated high-frequency oscillator transmits high frequency signals to the input of a 12-tone divider circuit whose outputs transmit tone frequency signals to the tone generator of the musical instrument. The oscillator receives regulating signals from a switching unit, such as a multiplexer or a battery of integrated circuits, and the intensity of such signals is a function of addressing signals which are transmitted to the switching unit by an addressing unit having a keyboard with keys which are actuatable by the player to initiate the generation of different addressing signals as a result of closing of electric switches which are associated with the keys. The distribution of keys in the keyboard is the same as the distribution of playing keys in the keyboard of a piano, organ or a like musical instrument. If the keys are the playing keys of the musical instrument, the addressing unit is provided with an auxiliary switch which can be closed in response to actuation of a digital or a pedal to move from a first (open) position in which the keys are unable to effect the generation of addressing signals and act solely as playing keys to a second (closed) position in which the keys can effect the generation of addressing signals. The addressing unit is further provided with a storage whose output transmits to the switching unit a selected addressing signal until the player decides to actuate another key to thereby select a different addressing signal.

Music playing apparatus for playing selected musical notes in accordance with a selected rhythm pattern. A rhythm pattern is selected having a multiplicity of intervals. The rhythm pattern is repetitively reproducible and musical notes played at any interval within the rhythm pattern may be selectively played as either an unaccented note or as an accented note. Selected musical notes are played at each interval within the rhythm pattern and the pitch of a selected note is determined. The pitch of a selected note is within a predetermined range of octaves in the chromatic scale and this range of octaves may be selectively extended. A tone generator generates audible musical tones in accordance with the established rhythm pattern, the selected musical notes, and the octave band within which the selected musical notes are found.

An electronic musical instrument employing top octave synthesizer circuits (TOS circuits) for generating the musical tones to be reproduced by the instrument employs a single master oscillator common to all of the top octave synthesizer circuits for supplying the trains of clock pulses to the synthesizer circuits for their operation. To prevent phase-locked conditions from existing in the frequencies produced by different synthesizers, the clock pulses from the master oscillator are supplied to the synthesizers through coincidence gate logic circuitry which is controlled by means of a low frequency oscillator and a divider or shift register circuit to delete different ones of the clock pulses from the clock pulse signal trains for each of the different synthesizers. This causes all of the frequencies obtained from the synthesizers to be slightly different from one another, independent, and not phase-locked. This nonphase-locked system provides a more pleasing musical effect than is otherwise attainable from a top octave synthesizer system using a single master oscillator to drive more than one top octave synthesizer circuit.

An electronic musical instrument has a keyboard including a plurality of scale keys and a plurality of chord keys. Musical sounds are generated by a programmable frequency divider network capable of producing different output frequencies, depending on which keys of the keyboard are activated. A decoding means connects the keyboard and the programmable frequency divider network to supply signals which cause the programmable frequency divider network to produce different output frequencies, depending on which keys of the keyboard are activated. Means connect the scale keys and the chord keys for altering signals supplied from the chord keys to the programmable frequency divider network, depending on which scale keys are activated. On this basis, compatible chords may be generated with the chord keys for a melody being played with the scale keys. The frequency divider network utilizes lowest common multiples and prime numbers, which substantially eliminates the potential for producing dissonant sounds. The lowest common multiple and prime number approach also allows fabrication of instruments which produce diatonic scales, e.g., modified Pythagorean and modified Zarlino scales, in addition to the chromatic scale. This electronic musical instrument may be provided in a single package and consitutes a musical analog to a portable electronic calculator.

A frequency divider for a tone source for an Arabian scale in an electronic organ of the type wherein musical tone signals for a standard musical scale, musical tone signals higher than the same by 50 cents and musical tone signals lower than the same by 50 cents can be obtained from the output signal of a main oscillator. The output signal of the main oscillator is frequency-divided by at least one frequency divider to obtain an output signal. The aforesaid frequency divider comprises a counter and an AND circuit. An input terminal of the frequency divider is connected through the counter to an input terminal on one side of the AND circuit and is connected directly to an input terminal on the other side of the AND circuit.
