Furthermore a damper structure comprises a damper and a clamp which allows a change in the amount and the placement of the contact surface area between the damper and the clamp to adjust the damping power of the damper structure in different axes.

    摘要: A swage mount for a recording head suspension comprising a flange, and a hub made of a base metal extending from the flange, and at least an outer surface of the hub is plated with one or more layers of metal which provides increased retention torque, and/or increased cleanliness, and/or increased corrosion resistance. This invention may be used in conjunction with swage mounts that contain surface protrusions that are intentionally created (such as chromium nitride or chromium carbide protrusions) or not intentionally created (such as material inclusions or embedded media particles). In this case the metal plating helps prevent separation of the protrusions from the swage mount, thereby helping to prevent contamination.

    摘要: In a biaxial actuator for an optical pickup, rising pieces are bend-formed on a base member on which a lens holder having an objective lens is placed in such a way as to be able to displace in a focusing direction and in a tracking direction. The strength of the base member is increased by setting the width of the bend-formed portion at the root of each of the rising pieces in such a way as to be larger than the width of any other part of the associated rising piece. Preferably, the shape of a side elevation section of each of the rising pieces is set to be a trapezoid.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a pickup feed mechanism in which the joint and the feed screw can engage with each other in a desirable manner. The joint (23) is fastened at one end to a slide member (21) that holds a pickup. The joint (23) has, at the other end, an engagement part (231) that is shaped like a projection. The engagement part (231) is located between a top cover (32) and the feed screw (24) and engaged with the screw portion (241) of the feed screw (24). The joint (23) also has, as the other end, a projection (232) that protrude away from the engagement part (231). The projection (232) abuts on the top cover (32) before the engagement part (231) disengages from the screw portion (241), when the joint (23) moves away from the screw portion (241) as it receive vibration or an impact. Thus, the engagement part (231) is prevented from coming out of the screw portion (241).

    摘要: The pickup device is used in a drive device of an optical disc and is opposed to the optical disc to irradiate a light beam from a light source onto an information recording surface of the optical disc. The pickup device has the actuator including the objective lens for condensing a light beam on the information recording surface of the optical disc, and irradiation of a light beam on the optical disc is controlled by moving the objective lens. Further, the pickup device has the optical system for directing a light beam, which is emitted from the light source, to a position below the objective lens. The optical system is placed at the same height level as the actuator. Therefore, as compared with the case where the optical system is provided below the actuator, the whole pickup can be smaller in thickness, and it is possible to provide a pickup device suitable for a thin drive device.
