    摘要: A fuel assembly having a plurality of fuel rods arranged in a square lattice array. The fuel rods include a plurality of short-length fuel rods each having a fuel active length shorter than that of each of remaining ones of the fuel rods. At least one water rod is arranged in a region in which one or more of the fuel rods are arrangeable in the array, and a plurality of fuel spacers are provided at a plurality of positions in the axial direction for holding the plurality of fuel rods and the at least one water rod, with mutual radial intervals therebetween being kept immovable. The plurality of short-length fuel rods include at least one first short-length fuel rod arranged in the outermost peripheral region of the square lattice array. Each of the plurality of fuel spacers include a plurality of cylindrical members.

The fuel units are surrounded by a fuel channel (9) with a substantially square cross section. At least some of the fuel units comprise fuel rods with different diameters and different fuel quantities. The fuel rods are adapted such that fuel quantity and lattice space are optimized laterally and axially in the fuel assembly.

    摘要: A new design concept of boiling water reactor fuel assembly water channels is disclosed. The new design utilizes parallel flow paths guided inside an outer conduit without reversing flow. The different flow paths discharge water into the coolant stream, which is the objective of this invention, and resulting in improvements in thermal efficiency and stability of the fuel assembly. The thus diverted flow paths discharge water evenly into the coolant stream, which is the objective of this invention, with the result of improving the thermal efficiency and stability of the fuel assembly.

    摘要: A fuel assembly, particularly, a fuel assembly including short-length fuel rods and fuel spacers, is used for a boiling water reactor, which is capable of sufficiently reducing the pressure loss of at least one of the fuel spacers positioned above the upper ends of the short-length fuel rods, irrespective of the arrangement of the short-length fuel rods, and also ensuring the structural strength of the fuel spacer. The fuel assembly includes fuel rods located in a square lattice array, two water rods arranged in a region in which seven of the fuel rods are arrangeable, two fuel spacers for holding the fuel rods and the water rods with mutual intervals kept immovable. Each of the fuel spacers includes cells which are connected to each other and in which the fuel rods are to be inserted, respectively, and a band for surrounding the outermost peripheries of the cells. The short-length fuel rods include four first short-length fuel rods arranged in the outermost peripheral region of the square lattice array. One of the fuel spacers, positioned upward from the upper ends of the short-length fuel rods, is configured such that the cells located at lattice positions associated with the first short-length fuel rods are removed and instead supporting members, each being adapted to connect two of the cells adjacently located on both sides of each of the lattice positions in the outermost peripheral region to the band, are provided at the lattice positions.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a fuel assembly (1) and a method therefor. The fuel assembly is intended for a light-water cooled nuclear reactor and comprises a first and a second locking member (9a, 9b, 10), a plurality of elongated elements (3, 3a) wherein each of the lower ends of the elongated elements is provided with an end plug (3b). The end plug (3b) is arranged guided or locked in an end plate (6) which comprises at least two adjacently disposed plug holes (6b) for receiving one end plug (3b) each. The first locking member (9a, 9b) is made in an end plug (3b) and has a concave shape and the second locking member (10) is arranged slidable in a locking hole (6c) which is adapted to extend between the two adjacently disposed plug holes (6b) and opening out into these. The second locking member (10) is made with a length exceeding the length of the locking hole (6c) and has end surfaces with shapes intended for cooperation with the concave surface of the first locking member (9a, 9b).

    摘要: Nuclear fuel assembly configurations are provided for mixed oxide fuels. Neutron poisons are provided within the MOX of certain fuel rods in the fuel assembly, those fuel rods being preferentially grouped towards the periphery of the fuel assembly. In this way, optimized reduction of reactivity is provided during the initial part of the fuel cycle but the neutron poison is burnt out so as not to interfere with the reactivity during subsequent parts of the cycle.
