    摘要: In an adaptive array antenna receiving apparatus, signal to interference ratio (SIR) measuring units are provided in signal processing units, respectively. The SIR measuring units measure signal to interference ratios of existing fingers to supply the measured results for an antenna weight succession processing unit. The antenna weight succession processing unit selects one of the existing fingers on the basis of the measured results. The antenna weight succession processing unit extracts antenna weights from one of the signal processing units that corresponds to the selected finger. The antenna weight succession processing unit supplies the extracted antenna weights to a newly assigned finger or one of the existing fingers that path timing is greatly changed.

    摘要: A phased array communication system and method has a plurality of phased array antenna structures disbursed throughout an aircraft in a manner to provide substantially spherical antenna coverage around the aircraft. The system includes n-element arrays and transmit/receive modules connected to respective elements forming the array. A beam forming network and antenna interface unit are included. Communication signals are converted between a satellite downlink frequency band and a communications band used by Communication, Navigation and Identification (CNI) components, known to those skilled in the art, for allowing (a) air-to-air crosslink communication; (b) satellite receive communications; and (c) air-to-ground data link communications at a satellite downlink frequency band. A communications transceiver is operatively connected to each antenna interface unit for receiving and transmitting communication signals within a communications band used by communication, navigation and identification (CNI) components to and from the phased array antenna structures.

Further, the antenna system can enhance performance and reduce cost by using the multi-line phase shifters.

    摘要: A directive antenna includes plural antenna elements in an antenna assemblage. A feed network connected to the antenna elements includes at least one switch to select a state of one of the antenna elements to be in an active state in response to a control signal. The other antenna elements are in a passive state, electrically coupled to an impedance to be in a reflective mode. The antenna elements in the passive state are electromagnetically coupled to the active antenna element, allowing the antenna assemblage to directionally transmit and receive signals. The directive antenna may further include an assisting switch associated with each antenna element to assist coupling the antenna elements, while in the passive state, to the respective impedances. The antenna assemblage may be circular for a 360null discrete scan in N directions, where N is the number of antenna elements. The directive antenna is suitable for use in a high data rate network having greater than 50 kbits per second data transfer rates, where the high data rate network may use CDMA2000, 1 eV-DO, 1Extreme, or other such protocol.

    摘要: A method and a system for an array antenna calibration are disclosed. The method and system provide a sensor system presenting a sensor device (3) at each antenna element (1), which sensor devices constitute simple digital receivers. Each digital receiver produces a complex base-band I/Q-signal. The outputs of the digital receivers are fed to a Digital Signal Processing device for adding them up to obtain a resulting signal which when converted to a DC signal presents a maximum if all individual signals have the same phase. The search for a maximum of this DC voltage is then used by the Digital Signal Processor for creating source signal phase control signals. By adjusting source signal phases for obtaining maximum added DC voltage derived from the sensor system the phases at the antenna elements will be calibrated. In this manner an adaptive array antenna is simply calibrated even during operation by compensating the base-band I/Q-signals for the intentional phase settings used for achieving a specific channel adaptive array antenna direction.
