摘要： A battery terminal connector having a body portion, and an intermediate aperture for engaging a battery post. The size of the intermediate aperture is variable from a size well in excess of the diameter of the battery post to which it is to be connected, to a size somewhat smaller than the diameter of the battery post to which it is to be connected. A base plate is positioned along a line extending generally from one side surface of the connector to the other side surface of the connector. A threaded rod extends upwardly from the base plate. The connector further includes at least one vertically-movable element, including an upper and a lower wedge-shaped element. A threaded nut is preferably rotatably secured to the threaded rod. The threaded nut is positioned above and abuts against the upper of the two wedge-shaped elements. As the threaded nut is moved downward along the threaded rod, the nut pushes upon that upper wedge-shaped element. In turn, the upper wedge-shaped element forces the lower wedge-shaped element down and in. This inward movement pressures one of the side surfaces on the connector, and as a result the intermediate aperture becomes reduced in size.

The second ferrule is secured to the front end of the body portion, and the first ferrule is connected to the back end of the body portion. The first ferrule is separated from the second ferrule by an angle of between approximately 150-180 degrees. A line passing through the axis of the first ferrule and second ferrule passes through the battery terminal post to which the terminal connector is attached.

摘要： A connection arrangement enables rapid connection and disconnection of a cable wire (11) to a post-shaped automobile battery terminal (12). A battery terminal connector (16), has a platform (17) with a front end forming a post-receiving hole (18) that receives the battery terminal, the platform having a rear end with a pair of stationary shoulders (21) and a pin contact (22) lying between the shoulders. A cable connector (25) includes a socket contact (26) that can connect to the battery connector, and a locking device. The locking device has a pair of clamp arms (31) that are resiliently biased together but that are deflected apart by a separator (38) until the arm shoulders (35) snap behind the stationary shoulders.

摘要： A battery assembly for a vehicle includes a battery with a post extending therefrom. A terminal is connected to the post, and a blade extends from the terminal. A battery cable includes an attached connector. The connector is configured to receive the blade in a snap-in relationship. The blade includes a protrusion thereon, and the connector includes a spring member configured to provide sufficient normal force on the blade to force the blade against a wall of the connector to provide a reliable electrical contact. The spring member abuts the protrusion to secure the blade in the connector.

摘要： A clamping mechanism for use with a terminal secured to a battery post. The terminal includes a first end securing a terminal line, a substantially annular shaped post fitting proximate a second end, and which includes a pair of spaced apart guide walls from which extend first and second spaced apart and extending legs. The clamping mechanism has a body supported in laterally traversable fashion upon the first terminal leg, an elongated aperture defined therethrough permitting the body to be seatingly engaged through a terminal post extending upwardly from the first leg. The body fixedly engaging the second terminal leg. A pair of angling guides extend along the walls defining the aperture. A nut assembly is threadably engaged over the terminal post and includes a pair of additional guides which inter-engage the aperture angling guides along a traveling direction of the slotted portion. The nut assembly is rotated between first and second opposite and translating directions along the post such that the inter-engaging guides actuate the body between loosened and tightened positions in a controlled manner and with a controlled degree of clamping and spring back forces.
