    摘要: Non-random windings are employed to reduce the proximity effect in electrical machines, including rotating machines such as various types of motors. Thus, with respect to electrical machinery of the type wherein multi-strand electrical wiring is received within a slot relative to a surface associated with the transmission of magnetic flux, a method of dressing the wiring within the slot according to the invention includes the step of winding the strands of each turn in one or more layers, each layer being substantially parallel to the surface associated with the transmission of magnetic flux. The winding may be a multi layer winding, in which case the windings associated with each layer are preferably separated by an insulating layer. The invention is applicable to various types of machines and motors, including AC, brushless DC and variable reluctance (VR) types. The conductors may be of a circular cross section or other geometry, such as flattened tapes.

    摘要: The present invention discloses methods and apparatus for winding successive differently sized components with coils of wire. More specifically, the present invention is directed to methods and apparatus for winding multiple electric motor armatures in succession, when those armatures have different dimensions. Generally speaking, the invention includes an assembly with movable parts, which enables all armatures to have a common alignment characteristic in the winding apparatus. If necessary, the actual coil winding mechanism will shift to achieve proper positioning relative to each armature. This reduces the number of adjustments that have to be made to hardware that is ordinarily required to wind such differently sized armatures.

Coils of wire are created as each pair of slots is wound. The invention will typically be used to form multiple coil windings on a single stator.

The sensor arrangements can include two sensors or a single sensor to detect the presence of the excess wire. Beam sensors, vision sensors, or tactile sensors may be used to detect the presence of the excess wire. A plunger device is provided to facilitate the tearing of thin initial and final wire leads to a tang terminal of a commutator.
