    摘要： A method and apparatus are provided for decoding both radio facsimile and radio teletype broadcast signals. A zero crossing detector detects zero crossings of the broadcast signal and generates a pulse with each zero crossing. A time interval is determined between the detected zero crossings. The determined time interval is compared with a plurality of predetermined threshold values for generating a first decoded signal. The first decoded signal is utilized for generating a print signal. The print signal is applied to a conventional printer for generating both the facsimile chart and teletype message.

    摘要： An all-electronic control system for a high-speed column sequential dot matrix printer, using a permutation code signal of given pulse rate p comprising a series of individual code words each including a fixed number of data pulses preceded by a start pulse; the control system comprises a plural-stage FIFO storage register with a capacity of at least three, and preferably four or more, code words, for storing input data, as during a carriage return of the printer. A print timing oscillator having a frequency f is coupled to countdown means that develops a normal print rate signal f/n and a fast print rate signal f/m, where f >>p and n>m. A print rate selector selects one of the print rate signals, to control the printing speed of the printer, depending on whether a code word is stored in a given stage of the storage register.

    摘要： There is disclosed a dot matrix or telegraphic progressive printing system including an encoding device such as keyboard or reader, a code translator, and a printer for progressively printing a symbol on a record medium during each printing cycle. In the illustrated embodiments, a platen having platen edges rotates continuously, a carriage travels at a constant rate relative to the platen during each printing cycle, and a print hammer mounted by the carriage cooperates with successive platen edges or elements of the platen in accordance with the symbol pulse units received from the code translator. The printing cycle for a selected symbol is initiated when a stored signal is ready to be applied to the printer and a platen element is in the proper position relative to the print hammer.

The characters of a row are initially stored, and only following the occurrence of a predetermined control signal, for example a "carriage return" signal, are all of the characters of the pending row printed. The teleprinter has a display unit for displaying at least a portion of those characters of a row which have not yet been printed. The display unit may also display at least one preceding and at least one following row in addition to the row being printed.

    摘要： A keyboard entry terminal generates character codes in response to an operator''s key selections. The code is transmitted to voice grade telephone lines through an acoustic coupler with a telephone receiver cradled thereon. An ordinary television receiver is connected to the terminal to display the operator''s message as it is typed on the keyboard. An identical terminal is located at the other end of the telephone lines so that the code transmitted over the lines is received by the remote terminal through its acoustic coupler, upon which the receiving station telephone receiver is similarly cradled. Again, an ordinary TV receiver is connected to the terminal at the receiver station for the display of the incoming message. Transmission from the receiver station can then take place as outlined above.

    摘要： Known high speed teleprinters are, in effect, signal actuated typewriters, and have the defect of being relatively slow speed. In the present invention a teleprinter includes letter or other insignia forming matrices composed of several mutually insulated elements, in such an array that different combinations of elements correspond to different letters, each element being an electrode of a condenser. Input signals cause different combinations of elements to be charged. A printing material is applied to the matrices, and the charged elements will electrostatically retain it, until the matrix is pressed against specially treated paper, to which the printing material adheres.
