摘要: An indoor gardening appliance includes a cabinet defining a grow chamber within the cabinet. The gardening appliance further includes environmental control system configured to adjust atmospheric conditions in the grow chamber. The gardening appliance may be operable to activate a compressor of the environmental control system to circulate a refrigerant through a sealed system of the environmental control system. The refrigerant enters the compressor at a suction side of the compressor and the refrigerant entering the compressor has a pressure that corresponds to a saturation temperature below the freezing point of water. The gardening appliance may be further operable to flow air across a heat exchange surface of the sealed system. The heat exchange surface of the sealed system is upstream of the grow chamber with respect to the air flow direction, and the heat exchange surface has a temperature above the freezing point of water.

摘要: A light reflector for plants in a planter including a planter pot having a circular base and side walls which extend up from the base to a rim which extends around the top opening of the pot. A reflector having a circular shape with an elastic waist band which forms a circular opening which grips the side walls and engages the bottom surface of the rim whereby the reflector extends outward from the sidewalls to reflect light on a bottom surface of the plants.

摘要: A method and apparatus for generating solar power in agricultural fields while minimally impacting crop growth and farming efforts, including positioning an elongated solar panel above crops, wherein the elongated solar panel runs generally parallel to longitudinal lines and wherein the elongated solar panel has at least one solar transducing face and an endless edge surrounding and perpendicular to the at least one solar transducing face, automatically pivoting the elongated solar panel such that the at least one solar transducing face is oriented parallel to incident solar rays during predetermined times when plant growth requires incident sunlight, automatically pivoting the elongated solar panel such that the at least one solar transducing face is oriented parallel to the vertical during rain, automatically pivoting the elongated solar panel out of the way of heavy farm equipment, and automatically pivoting the elongated solar panel such that the at least one solar transducing face is oriented perpendicular to incident solar rays at predetermined times when plant growth does not require direct sunlight. The elongated solar panel is positioned sufficiently above crops to give clearance to heavy farm equipment passing therebelow and/or adjacent panels are spaced sufficiently apart such that heavy farm equipment may pass therebetween.

摘要: A system for controlling plant growth conditions in hydroponic growing systems, the system for controlling plant growth conditions comprising: at least one detector for measuring at least one property of a plant growth substrate or environmental condition; first and second data processing means; data storage means and the or each detector being arranged to measure a property or properties of a plant growth substrate or environmental condition and to transmit a detector identifier and the measured property or properties over a communications link to the first data processing means; the first data processing means being arranged to: hold in a memory predefined growth data including irrigation data, environmental data, plant data, harvest data, crop data and/or climate data defining a relationship between: plural values for one or more of temperature, pH level, water content, nutrient content, oxygen content of the substrate, air temperature, humidity and light level, climate conditions, plant parameters, harvest and crop conditions; and plural desired irrigation parameters and environmental parameters; process measured properties received from each detector to obtain processed properties of the substrate; provide an output indicative of a desired growth input for the growth substrate, based upon the processed properties and the predefined growth data; and send processed data to the data storage means, the data storage means arranged to store the sent data as logged data; the second data processing means being arranged to: receive data from the data storage means; calculate predicted properties of the substrate based on the logged data; determine a difference between the processed properties of the substrate and the predicted properties of the substrate; receive a message condition input for outputting a message based on said difference; and output a message when said difference meets the message condition.

摘要: A controlled environment agriculture system is provided, in which the system includes an inner layer and an outer layer. At atmospheric conditions, the inner layer is air permeable, water vapor permeable, and liquid water impermeable, and the outer layer is water vapor impermeable and liquid water impermeable. An enclosure defined by the inner layer is disposed within the interior space of an enclosure defined by the outer layer, and a primary spacing is maintained between at least a portion of the outer surface of the inner layer and the inner surface of the outer layer.
