摘要: A device for tensioning a dual-skin flexible wall capable of interaction with at least one rigid mount, the device being mounted at the opposite edges of two skins to be retained by the rigid mount. The device includes a cord designed to interact with a groove formed in the rigid mount, and an inflatable bead capable of spacing the two skins away from and parallel to each other. Once inflated, the inflatable bead has a substantially cylindrical shape and remains confined outside the volume occupied by the rigid mount.

摘要: Modular inflatable cover for buildings, comprising separate coaxial conduits (30) secured together by tensionable link (50) and fluid-connected by coaxial inflatable tube (24). Tube (24) securely embraces sliders (32) that in turn closely but freely embrace conduits (30). Sliders (32) are urged by springs (34) to keep tube (24) taught. Elastic cinctures (26) on tube (24) and springs (34) tensionably cooperate against inflation means to provide reliable control of openings between adjacent modules in an assembly. Conduits (30) are securely torqued to ground anchors (40) by coupling (42). End covers (44) and sliders (32) are provided to compensate for and facilitate length shrinkage of tube (24), upon inflation. The present invention provides a variable cover with integral support that is uniquely capable of exploiting canyons and other ground depressions for an unprecedented scale of environment control. Applications include greenhouses, shutters, insulation and shelters.

摘要: There is provided a transparent plastic film roof for a building, comprising two transparent plastic films, which are fixed to edge rafters extending from a ridgepole to a ridge plate and are formed in a bag-like structure for serving as a building roof, wherein warm air is supplied from an air supply port into the bag-like structure to maintain the bag-like structure in a tensioned state, and air in the bag-like structure is discharged from an air discharge port. There is also provided a multi-ridge building, wherein a liquid passing pipe is disposed in the same direction as long film-clamping assemblies in the vicinity of a valley portion of the multi-ridge roof formed by the two transparent plastic films, and wherein the liquid passing pipe is configured to pass warm water or warm antifreezing fluid therethrough.

摘要: A process for erecting a inflatable building structure which is especially adapted for housing plants. The process includes the steps of(1) installing a plurality of support posts in the ground or other suitable base;(2) attaching a roof structure formed from one or more inflatable membranes to the plurality of support posts; and(3) inflating the inflatable membrane.Preferably the inflatable membrane has peripheral rigid support members which are each attached to a row of associated posts. The roof structure formed from the inflatable membrane(s) together with rigid support members may be initially laid on the ground before being elevated. There also may be provided an upper securing cable extending across the top of the or each inflatable membrane which may initially be in the slack condition but which is subsequently tensioned before inflation. There also may be provided a lower support cable extending under the or each membrane which may initially be in a slack condition but which is subsequently tensioned before inflation. The invention also provides an inflatable building structure erected by the aforementioned process.

摘要: A sheet gripping assembly for thin pliable sheet material, such as plastic film comprising either a single sheet or two separate sheets disposed face to face. The sheet gripping assembly has an elongate base with a longitudinal channel opening through one longitudinal side of the base for receiving the sheet material to be gripped and a sheet lock insert which coacts with the channel side walls to grip the sheet material between interengaging longitudinal edge formations on the sidewalls and insert. A second sheet lock insert is provided to secure one sheet of dual sheet material within a second channel in the base.

摘要: A controlled environment agriculture system is provided, in which the system includes an inner layer and an outer layer. At atmospheric conditions, the inner layer is air permeable, water vapor permeable, and liquid water impermeable, and the outer layer is water vapor impermeable and liquid water impermeable. An enclosure defined by the inner layer is disposed within the interior space of an enclosure defined by the outer layer, and a primary spacing is maintained between at least a portion of the outer surface of the inner layer and the inner surface of the outer layer.
