摘要： An adjustable belt for wearing around a user's waist is disclosed. The belt comprises a strap for placement around the user's waist. A buckle is coupled to a first end of the strap and is configured for accepting a second end of the strap and adjusting a length of the strap. The buckle further comprises a plurality of gears that mate with gear teeth located on an outward facing surface of the strap, such that movement of the second end of the strap within the buckle moves the plurality of gears; a spring loaded ratchet that contacts the gear teeth of the plurality of gears, such that the ratchet only allows movement of the plurality of gears in one direction; and a lever coupled to the spring loaded ratchet, such that activating the lever allows for movement of the plurality of gears in both directions.

摘要： A device is disclosed for wearing on a wrist or other body part including a central piece held on the body part by a pair of straps. A first strap includes fastening holes and the second strap includes a pin plate having pins for mating within the fastening holes in the first strap to affix the device to the body part. The pins are off-center with respect to a lengthwise centerline dividing a width of the pin plate in half. The pin plate may be affixed to the second strap into different orientations, to thereby allow adjustment of a fit of the device to the body part with finer granularity than provided by the pitch of the fastening holes in the first strap.

摘要： Buckle type attachment elements, such as for belts, watch bands, or the like, and/or for securing or fastening elements (e.g., for footwear, handbags, briefcases, containers, or other objects) may be produced in a manner that generates minimal waste materials, without the use of metal or mechanical hardware type connectors, from completely recyclable materials, without the need for molding, without the use of plastics, and/or without the use of adhesives or cements. Such buckle elements may include a buckle portion and a tongue portion formed from the same material. In some structures, the tongue portion may be made from a part cut out to form the buckle portion. In other structures, the tongue portion may be formed by cutting slits into a base substrate that also makes up the buckle portion. Final products and methods of making such products also are described.
