    摘要: A system for oral irrigation comprises a fluid delivery tube (102) with a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end is for receiving oral irrigation fluids. A nozzle (104) is placed at the distal end of the fluid delivery tube. The system further comprises an interdental sensor (2002) for detecting whether the nozzle is in an interdental space, and a motion sensor (2004) for measuring the displacement of the nozzle. A processor is configured to determine whether the nozzle (104) is moving along the occlusal surface of a tooth based on the displacement of the nozzle being larger than a critical distance, wherein the critical distance is indicative of the length of a tooth, and the interdental sensor (2002) not detecting an interdental space during the displacement of the nozzle.

    摘要: A combination electric toothbrush and water irrigation device that combines a battery powered water irrigation device with a vibrating electric toothbrush, both of which are housed in a self-contained compact hand-held device. The pump for the water irrigation device and the DC motor with an off-center weight are contained within the handle of the toothbrush. A slide out water reservoir allows the user to fill the extended handle portion with water. A flexible water inlet tube is capable of compressing when the water reservoir is in the storage position. A weight fixed to the end of the inlet tube causes the tube to bend via gravity enabling it to be in constant contact with water while the handle is held at various angles. An LED at the underside of the pump housing illuminates the water contained within the transparent water housing.

The control circuit is configured to detect stalling of the motor in response to the load applied to the pump by the pressurized working fluid stored in the accumulator, and to deactivate the motor when stalling of the motor has been detected.
