    摘要: A system and method is provided for monitoring and controlling a load disposed at least partially within a model vehicle. Preferred embodiments of the present invention operate in accordance with a load car that includes a load, a motor, and a controller for operating the motor to raise and lower the load. In one embodiment, the controller is configured to monitor at least one metric (e.g., a coal level) and to operate the motor so that the vertical position of the load (e.g., a coal load) is synchronized to the metric. If the metric goes up, then the load is moved (e.g., via the motor) in an upward direction. Alternatively, if the metric goes down, then the load is moved (e.g., via the motor) in a downward direction.

    摘要: A control and motor arrangement in accordance with the present invention includes a motor configured to generate a locomotive force for propelling the model train. The control and motor arrangement further includes a command control interface configured to receive commands from a command control unit wherein the commands correspond to a desired speed. The control and motor arrangement still further includes a plurality of detectors configured to detect speed information of the motor, and a process control arrangement configured to receive the speed information from the sensors. The process control arrangement is farther configured and arranged to generate a plurality of motor control signals based on the speed information for controlling the speed of said motor. The control and motor arrangement yet still further includes a motor control arrangement configured to cause power to be applied to the motor at different times in response to the motor control signals.

    摘要: A toy cog wheel railway is provided having a track with smooth driving faces and a center cogging member with two opposed vertically extending racks thereon. The associated train has an engine with a driven chassis and further cars with undriven running chassis. The chassis contain wheels with smooth faces to run on the driving faces of the track. The undersides of the chassis are provided with opposed guide members that contact the opposed sides of the cogging member. The driven chassis is provided with a motor whose drive axis is vertical with respect to the driving faces of the track and is offset with respect to the center line between the guide members so that a cogwheel attached to the drive axle engages only one of the racks. The chassis are further provided with coupling arm including a yoke having two deflected arms which are pivotally mounted to the chassis at a height approximate that of the drive motor cogwheel and the guide members, respectively, and in the longitudinal direction approximate that of a vertical plane containing the center of gravity of the respective chassis.

    摘要: A toy locomotive is configurable to provide a push toy resembling a locomotive and is alternatively configurable to provide a toy figure launching device. A cylindrical portion of the locomotive is pivotable to an upwardly inclined position above the supporting chassis of the toy locomotive. The cylindrical portion defines a cylindrical bore within which a piston is moveable. A spring loaded plunger and knob cooperated with the piston to facilitate drawing the piston into the cylindrical bore against a spring and thereafter releasing the plunger to transfer energy from the spring to the piston. A toy figure is receivable within the cylinder bore of the cylindrical portion so as to be projected or launched when the piston is released.

    摘要: A musical toy includes a vehicle traveling on a track which includes visual indicia representative of a standard nine note musical staff. Note tiles having first fastener halves may engage with second fasteners at predetermined locations on the track corresponding with the locations of notes on the represented staff. Switch operators facing down from the train may sense the note tiles to play the music so represented by the note tiles and track arranged in the staff and note configuration. The note tiles and track fastener features could be constructed in a format similar to the familiar stud and tube blocks of the popular Lego® system. An additional row of fastener halves could reside on the track adjacent to the main musical staff or outside the rails to allow for placement of tiles that could trigger sharp or flat notes, standard chords or perhaps percussive beat patterns. Also a cap placed on the top of the note blocks could trigger a distinct signal that could change the output to produce sharps, flats, a shift to a higher or lower octave or similar effects.
