Abstract: A dual-rotor machine comprising a dual rotor support structure rotatably connected to a frame. A stationary stator is disposed between the rotors and is fixed to the frame. An inner rotor and outer rotor, each comprising a permanent magnet Halbach array, are coaxially disposed with the stator and are rotable about the stator. In this configuration, the inner rotor channels its magnetic flux to its outside, while the outer rotor channels its magnetic flux to its inside. The magnetic flux density at the stator for the dual-rotor machine can be as high as 2 Tesla or higher for high-grade neodymium-iron-boron permanent magnet material, and the stored magnetic energy for conversion to mechanical or electrical energy available to the stator may be at least 0.5 KJ/m. The rotor Halbach arrays may comprise monolithic permanent magnets with continuously variable magnetic field direction.

Abstract: A brushless direct-current (BLDC) motor for a power tool includes a rotor assembly; a stator assembly including a stator having stator teeth forming slots therebetween and stator windings wound around the stator teeth; stator terminals extending substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis from the stator assembly and being substantially aligned with centerlines of the slots of the stator assembly; and a circuit board mounted on the stator terminals adjacent the stator assembly. The circuit board includes conductive traces facilitating a one of a delta or a series connection between the stator windings. An end insulator is provided at an axial end of the stator to electrically insulate the stator from the stator windings, the end insulator including support members to support the stator terminals relative to the stator assembly. The circuit board is mounted and fastened to the support members.

Abstract: An electric machine arrangement with first and second electric machines, each having a stator and a rotor, and a common housing in which the electric machines are arranged axially adjacently. The rotor of the first electric machine, on its side away from the second electric machine, is arranged with radial support of a supporting part of the housing rotatably mounted by a first bearing, and the rotor of the second electrical machine, on its side facing away from the first electric machine, is arranged with radial support of the supporting part in a manner rotatably mounted by a second bearing. One of the rotors is supported radially against the other by a third bearing. The rotor of one of the first or second electric machine is radially supported by a fourth bearing.
