    摘要: An improved cable tie installation tool includes a fixed cable tie guide channel mechanism that assists in retention of cable tie heads in a cable bundling position and prevents “bounce back” of the cable tie head back into the guide channel. The fixed guide channel mechanism is located near the distal end of the guide channel and includes a ramped surface and a retention wall oriented substantially perpendicular to the guide channel. The fixed guide channel mechanism is located on a side opposite a jaw assembly and may be combined with a biased retractable retainer assembly located on a wall opposite the guide channel mechanism. The fixed guide channel mechanism can serve as a primary system, a back-up to the retractable retainer assembly, or used in combination with the retractable retainer assembly. In embodiments, the guide channel mechanism may form an integral part of the guide channel or may be a separate insert affixed to the channel.

The number of turns of the wire around reinforcing bars can be arbitrarily set, for example, to any one of 1 to 4, and the binding can be effected with a binding force corresponding to a strength required by binding portions. As a result, with respect to those binding portions requiring a low binding force, the binding is effected with a smaller turn number, so that the amount of consumption of the wire can be saved, and besides those pipes (such as electric wiring pipes and hot water pipes) which are lower in strength than the reinforcing bars can also be bound together.

The cable tie cutting method includes a cable tie tightening step of pressing the trigger lever backwards such that a cable tie traction means, which holds the cable tie, is repeatedly moved backwards, thus drawing the cable tie backwards until the cable tie is tightened to realize a predetermined tightened state; a cable tie cutting preparation step of pressing the trigger lever backwards, thus rotating a clutch means such that the clutch means is released from engagement with the cable tie traction means and is brought into engagement with a cutting means so that the cutting means is operable in conjunction with the clutch means, and a base block is rotated, thus realizing an operational preparation state of the cutting means; a cable tie cutting step of pressing the trigger lever backwards, thus moving the cutting means backwards by the clutch means and operating a cutting blade, and cutting the end of the cable tie; and a returning step of returning the clutch means to its original state after cutting the end of the cable tie such that the clutch means is released from engagement with the cutting means and is brought into engagement with the cable tie traction means, thus causing the cable tie traction means to be operated in conjunction with the clutch means.

    摘要: A reduced force sealless connection mechanism is used in a strapping machine for forming a sealless connection of strapping material overlapped onto itself. The mechanism includes an upper and a lower punch support. The upper punch support includes two punches for engaging the strapping material. The lower punch support includes one punch. The upper punch support incorporates a stepped design such that one of the two punches mounted to the upper punch support is at a different height than the other punch mounted to the upper punch support. Each of the punches includes a plurality of punching heads. At least one punching head of each of the plurality of punching heads is shorter than the other punching heads. A multi-step punching sequence is therefore created such that no more than two slits of any of the joints of the sealless connection are simultaneously punched during creation of the sealless connection. Thus, the operator force required to actuate the mechanism is reduced and wear on the strapping machine components is decreased.

The front handle also includes a lockout mechanism that overrides the predetermined tension setting of the tension mechanism to enable the bundling member to be tensioned to a desired tension setting.
