摘要: An implantable device for controlling rotational growth is disclosed. The implantable device comprises a first screw and a second screw inserted using minimally invasive surgical procedures and positioned within holes created by guiding members. The first screw is positioned in an metaphyseal section and the second screw is positioned in a epiphyseal section in distal femur. The implantable device comprises a cable drawn through the first screw and the second screw. Further, the implantable device comprises a cotter or a thin screw inserted in the first screw to lock the cable. The implantable device modifies longitudinal growth and generates rotational movement due to torque generation, thereby promoting the rotational growth of the bone.

摘要: Embodiments disclosed herein provide a device for securing a ligature to an osseous structure, the device comprising a first part, a second part, a flexible elongate member for engaging the osseous structure, a closure element, and a deformable element between the first and second parts for holding open a gap G between them. The flexible elongate member is threaded through an orifice in the first part and the gap G. The closure element is configured for clamping the first and second parts against each other, overcoming the resilience of the deformable element, so as to frictionally lock the flexible elongate member threaded through the gap G. Embodiments disclosed herein also provide a method for using the device.

摘要: A closure system may secure a first bone portion to a second bone portion. The closure system may include a band, a locking terminal, and a tensioning device. The band may be adapted to be looped around the first and second bone portions. The locking terminal may fixedly engage a first portion of the band and selectively fixedly engage a second portion of the band. The tensioning device may include a body and a threaded rod. The threaded rod may be received in the body and may engage the band such that movement of the threaded rod relative to the body moves the second portion of the band relative to the first portion of the band.

摘要: Surgical cable passer instruments and methods for passing surgical cable around a bone through a surgical incision are disclosed. First and second handle tube portions comprise respective cable guide tubes and handle extensions. A proximal portion of the cable guide tube portions is fixed to a distal portion of the respective handle extension. Each handle tube portions comprise a cannula extending between a near port at a proximal end and a far port at a distal end for passage of surgical cable therebetween. Arc segments of a first cable guide tube and a second cable guide tube define a bone aperture therebetween for passing around a bone. A releasable hinge portion joins a first handle tube portion and a second handle tube portion at distal ends of a first and second handle extension.

The implants may include a base member, such as an acetabular shell or an augment, that is configured to couple with an augment, flange cup, mounting member, or any other suitable orthopedic attachment. The fastening member comprises at least two separate pieces each comprising one opening for receiving a bone fastener, wherein the separate pieces are coupled to each other by a material having a lower material strength than a material from which the separate pieces are made.

At least one recess extends inwardly from a sidewall of the suture connector to define a proximal engagement portion and a through hole configured to receive a suture extends through the proximal engagement portion and is open to the recess. A driver includes an elongate rod and an engagement element coupled to the distal end of the rod, the engagement element having at least one prong configured to engage the proximal engagement portion to insert the suture connector into the bone plate hole.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to bone plates that are configured for use with bones having periprosthetic fractures. For example, in the event that a proximal femur is fractured in an area that is adjacent to a prosthetic component, such as a femoral stem used in a hip replacement, the periprosthetic bone plates of the present invention may be used. In one exemplary embodiment, the periprosthetic bone plates include a periprosthetic zone having a plurality of central apertures and a plurality of outer apertures that are offset from the central apertures. The periprosthetic zone may further include a plurality of indentations, each indentation extending longitudinally between adjacent outer apertures to narrow a width of the bone plate.
