摘要: A lithographic printing plate precursor, a lithographic printing plate manufacturing method, a printing method and an aluminum support manufacturing method enable the resulting lithographic printing plate to have a long tiny dot press life. The lithographic printing plate precursor includes an aluminum support and an image recording layer. When measured over a 400 μm×400 μm region of a surface of the aluminum support on the image recording layer side using a three-dimensional non-contact roughness tester, pits with a depth from centerline of at least 0.70 μm are present at a density of at least 3,000 pits/mm2. A surface area ratio ΔS is not less than 35%, where ΔS is determined using an actual area Sx obtained, through three-point approximation, from three-dimensional data acquired by measurement at 512×512 points in 25 μm square of the surface of the aluminum support on the image recording layer side.

The lithographic printing plate precursor of the invention is a lithographic printing plate precursor including an aluminum support and an image recording layer, the aluminum support includes an aluminum plate and an anodized film of aluminum formed on the aluminum plate, the anodized film is positioned closer to the image recording layer than the aluminum plate is, the anodized film has micropores extending in a depth direction of the anodized film from a surface of the anodized film on the image recording layer, the micropores have an average diameter of more than 10 nm but not more than 100 nm at the surface of the anodized film, and the surface of the anodized film on the image recording layer side has a lightness L* of 70 to 100 in a L*a*b* color system.

摘要: There is described a recto-verso printing press (100*) adapted to carry out simultaneous recto-verso printing of sheets, the printing press (100*) comprising a main printing group (5, 6, 15, 16, 25, 26) with first and second printing cylinders (5, 6) cooperating with one another to form a first printing nip between the first and second printing cylinders (5, 6) where first and second sides of sheets are simultaneously printed, the first printing cylinder (5) acting as a sheet conveying cylinder of the main printing group (5, 6, 15, 16, 25, 26). The printing press (100*) further comprises an additional printing group (7, 8, 17, 18, 27, 28) with third and fourth printing cylinders (7, 8) cooperating with one another to form a second printing nip between the third and fourth printing cylinders (7, 8) where the first and second sides of the sheets are simultaneously printed, the third printing cylinder (7) acting as a sheet conveying cylinder of the additional printing group (7, 8, 17, 18, 27, 28). The main printing group (5, 6, 15, 16, 25, 26) and the additional printing group (7, 8, 7, 18, 27, 28) are coupled to one another by means of an intermediate sheet conveying system comprising one or more sheet-transfer cylinders (10, 10′, 10″) interposed between the first and third printing cylinders (5, 7).

The method can include the steps of:providing a substrate; providing 7 or more inks; and providing a print system, the print system comprising 6 or less rotating rolls. Each of the 6 or less rotating rolls can be disposed in an operative relationship to transport at least one of the 7 or more inks to a vascular network in one of 6 or less rotating rolls. The method includes contacting the substrate with the at least one of the 7 or more inks.

摘要: Systems and methods for high-speed variable printing are provided. Ink jet technology and lithographic systems may be combined in such a way to create a fully variable and high-quality print system. At least one area of a plate is reserved for variable information to be printed. The plate may already comprises static information to be printed. Ink is then applied to the at least one area of the plate reserved for the variable information. An aqueous solution is applied to a web to produce a negative image of the variable information, and a positive image of the variable information is transferred in ink to the web. The systems and methods described herein may be used to create high-quality one-to-one marketing applications.

摘要: A printing plate having a substrate and a radiation sensitive, negative working, organic, polymerizable, photosensitive (PS) resin coating non-ionically adhered to the substrate such that the cohesion of the PS coating exceeds the adhesion of the PS coating to the substrate. The PS coating contains active components that participate in radiation induced polymerization, all of which active components are soluble in non-aqueous solvents and none of which active components are soluble or dispersible in any of the group of fluids consisting of water, fountain solution, ink, and press ink. The PS coating has sufficient cohesion and surface tack to adhere to and be mechanically pulled off the substrate by press ink as particulates without dissolution or dispersion into the press ink.

摘要: Imageable elements can be imaged and then processed using a solution containing core-shell particles that are designed to complex with non-coalesced particles in the non-exposed regions of imaged element. A separate development step is not needed, but the non-coalesced particles and complexed core-shell particles can be removed from the resulting printing plate before using the resulting lithographic printing plate for printing.
