摘要: An on-press development type lithographic printing plate precursor includes a support and an image-recording layer on the support. The image-recording layer contains a polymerization initiator, an infrared absorber, a color forming substance precursor, and an auxiliary capable of donating an electron to the infrared absorber. A polymer having an ethylenically unsaturated group and a water-soluble monofunctional monomer are present on a surface of the support on an image-recording layer side, a layer in contact with the support on the image-recording layer side contains the polymer having an ethylenically unsaturated group and the water-soluble monofunctional monomer, or a layer in contact with the support on the image-recording layer side, other than the image-recording layer, contains the polymer having an ethylenically unsaturated group and the image-recording layer contains the water-soluble monofunctional monomer.

The lithographic printing plate precursor of the present invention is a lithographic printing plate precursor including an aluminum support, and an image recording layer disposed on the aluminum support, in which the aluminum support includes an aluminum plate and an anodized aluminum film disposed on the aluminum plate, the image recording layer is disposed on the aluminum support on a side of the anodized film, and an area ratio of projections with a height of 0.80 μm or greater from an average level, which is obtained by measuring a surface of the aluminum support on a side of the image recording layer in an area of 400 μm×400 μm using a non-contact three-dimensional roughness meter, is 20% or less.

摘要: An apparatus for back-exposing a printing plate and method for exposing a printing plate therewith. Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are arranged in one or more arrays, including at least two sets of LEDs, each set having an emission spectrum different than a corresponding emission spectrum of at least one other set. One or more controllers connected to the LED array is configured to activate the array to cause the plurality of sets of LEDs to emit radiation toward the back, non-printing side of the printing plate simultaneously. Performing the method includes providing the one or more arrays spaced a pre-defined distance from the printing plate and irradiating the back, non-printing side of the printing plate with the emission spectra of the at least two sets of LEDs simultaneously.

摘要: A method of forming printing sleeve for mounting on a cylinder in a printing press is provided. The method includes providing a permanent hydrophilic tubular layer on a tubular base; selectively providing a first temporary hydrophobic layer on the hydrophilic tubular layer to form a first imaged printing sleeve, the temporary hydrophobic layer forming a first image; printing, by the first imaged printing sleeve, a first print job including the first image on a substrate; and removing the first temporary hydrophobic layer from the permanent hydrophilic layer such that the permanent hydrophilic layer remains intact on the tubular base. A lithographic printing sleeve for a printing press is also provided.
