    摘要: A ribbon cartridge includes: a winding-side cylinder part that guides an ink ribbon and into which a winding shaft is inserted when the ribbon cartridge is installed in a cartridge installation part; a first ribbon guide that guides the ink ribbon at a position on a downstream side of the winding-side cylinder part in a feeding direction of the ink ribbon; and a second ribbon guide that guides the ink ribbon at a position on the downstream side of the ribbon guide in the feeding direction. The first ribbon guide is on an inner side of the second ribbon cartridge with respect to a guide imaginary line connecting the winding-side cylinder part and the second ribbon guide to each other when seen from a front side of the ribbon cartridge in an installation direction.

    摘要: The present invention embraces a method and apparatus for improving ribbon replacement for thermal printers. The present invention also applies to replacement of other media in associated printers. The improvement is achieved based a ribbon adapter or media adapter that is designed for two conditions: 1) catch condition for printing, and 2) release condition for replacing the media in the printer. By a single click or press of a button, a user can switch between the two conditions. The printing operation occurs during the catch condition. The catch condition ensures that there is no or little relative movement between media core and media adapter. The media adapter can also support different diameter media cores. The release condition is implemented when the user replaces media. The release condition can provide a relatively easy replacement of a media without a significant force or pressure.

    摘要: An elongated printing tape includes a heat-sensitive layer, a first protective layer, a second protective layer, and a first adhesive layer. The heat-sensitive layer produce color at temperatures within a prescribed range. The first protective layer is provided on the heat-sensitive layer. The second protective layer is provided on the side of the heat-sensitive layer opposite the first protective layer. The second protective layer contains at least one resin selected from a group consisting of fluorine-based resins, silicone-based resins, olefin-based resins, polyester-based resins, epoxy/polyester-based resins, and silicon-based resins. The first adhesive layer is provided on the side of the second protective layer opposite the heat-sensitive layer. The first adhesive layer contains at least one adhesive selected from a group consisting of (a) emulsion-type adhesive compounded with tackifying resin and containing acrylic polymer and rubber-based adhesive, (b) silicone-based adhesive, and (c) rubber-based adhesive.

    摘要: A tape cartridge is detachably installed on a cartridge installation portion of a tape printing apparatus. A first shaft and a second shaft are disposed on the cartridge installation portion. The tape cartridge includes a printing tape that is wound on a tape core, a platen roller in which a first shaft is inserted when the tape cartridge is installed in the cartridge installation portion, and a guided portion which is guided by the second shaft when the tape cartridge is installed in the cartridge installation portion. The shaft engaging part protrudes in an axial direction of the core body from an end surface of the core body and is formed in a crown shape in which a plurality of convex portions and a plurality of concave portions are alternately arranged side by side in a circumferential direction.
