摘要: An actuator includes a drive body including a torque-transfer surface configured to receive a torque. The actuator further includes: a drivable body including an output shaft such that rotation of the drive body causes movement of the output shaft; a first bearing configured to transfer thrust forces from the output shaft in a first direction; and a second bearing configured to transfer thrust forces from the output shaft in a second direction. At least the first bearing extends in a radial dimension beyond the torque-transfer surface.

摘要: An adjustable surf wake system enhances a wake formed by a watercraft travelling through water. The system may include a flap for deflecting water traveling past the stern of the watercraft, and/or a positioner operably connected to the flap for positioning the flap relative to a longitudinal axis of the watercraft between a neutral position and an outward position. Positioning a port flap in its extended position enhances a starboard surf wake, and positioning the starboard flap in its extended position enhances a port surf wake. A wake modifying system for modifying a wake produced by a watercraft traveling through water may include a rudder pivotally mounted to the watercraft for steering the watercraft, a fin pivotally mounted to the watercraft substantially along a centerline of the watercraft and forward the rudder, wherein the fin pivots about an upright axis to modify the wake produced by the watercraft traveling through the water, an actuator mounted within the watercraft and operably coupled to the fin for pivoting the fin relative to the centerline, and a controller mounted on the watercraft allowing an operator to control the actuator and selectively pivot the fin to a desired angle θd relative to the centerline.

摘要: A system for enhancing a wake profile produced by a pontoon boat is provided. The system includes a pair of ramps attached to the bottom of a platform supported by at least two pontoons. The ramps may be oriented downward with a rear end of the ramp disposed in the water between the pontoons. The water flowing between the pontoons is displaced downward by the ramps, thereby increasing water displacement and directing the water to produce an improved wake profile. Downforce may be applied to the boat by one or more wake plates, with a faceted portion of the wake plate facing forward and upward, such that when water impacts the faceted portion a downforce is provided. The wake plates may be attached to the ramps or may be separate from the ramps.

摘要: The invention provides an apparatus that attaches to a hull of a boat to disrupt water flow around the hull such that a wake created behind the boat is larger, differently positioned, and/or differently shaped. The apparatus includes a base and a blade. The blade is equipped with a mount structure that attaches the base to the blade. The blade can be reversibly mountable to the base such that either face of the blade faces a desired direction. The apparatus provides tool-free adjustment between a first configuration in which the base is mounted to the blade and a second configuration in which the base and the blade are separated. In some embodiments, the apparatus is removably attached to the hull by one or more suction cups. Additionally, the apparatus can be inflatable. The invention further provides a deployable lanyard assembly and a splash deflector for use with the apparatus.

摘要: A boat includes at least three trim devices positioned aft of the boat's transom. To improve the boat's ability to get on place, each trim device is initially positioned to a deployed position. The speed of the boat is then determined as the boat gains speed. When the speed of the boat exceeds a first predetermined threshold, the first trim device is moved from the deployed position to a non-deployed position. When the speed of the boat exceeds a second predetermined threshold, the second trim device is moved from the deployed position to a non-deployed position. When the speed of the boat exceeds a third predetermined threshold, the third trim device is moved from the deployed position to a non-deployed position. At least one of the first, second, and third predetermined thresholds is different from the other two of the first, second, and third predetermined thresholds.

摘要: Wakeboat hull control systems and methods are provided to permit the accurate reproduction of a wake behind a wakeboat. The onboard wake control system receives data from a draft measuring system. Incorporation of the data from the draft measuring system permits accurate reproduction of a wake behind the wakeboat after a change in an onboard variable such as the number, weight or position of passengers, the weight or position of cargo and the position of trim tabs or amount/location of ballast.

摘要: The invention relates to a vessel (1), especially a drillship or so-called drilling ship. The vessel comprises a hull (3) having a bottom surface (5) and a deck (7). Said vessel is provided with a moon pool (2), which extends from said bottom surface of the hull in an upward direction through the hull. Further, said vessel is provided with a cavity (10) located at a front side of the moon pool. Said cavity is at least partly open at a bottom side thereof in order to allow water to flow into said cavity. Moreover, said cavity is at least partly open at a rear side of said cavity in order to allow water to flow directly from said cavity into the moon pool, as a result of which moon pool sloshing can be diminished and the mean flow resistance of the vessel when sailing can be reduced.
