Abstract: A boat includes at least three trim devices positioned aft of the boat's transom. To improve the boat's ability to get on place, each trim device is initially positioned to a deployed position. The speed of the boat is then determined as the boat gains speed. When the speed of the boat exceeds a first predetermined threshold, the first trim device is moved from the deployed position to a non-deployed position. When the speed of the boat exceeds a second predetermined threshold, the second trim device is moved from the deployed position to a non-deployed position. When the speed of the boat exceeds a third predetermined threshold, the third trim device is moved from the deployed position to a non-deployed position. At least one of the first, second, and third predetermined thresholds is different from the other two of the first, second, and third predetermined thresholds.

Abstract: A watercraft, in particular a SWATH-type yacht is intended to have improved and greater functional properties. To this end, the watercraft, in particular a SWATH-type yacht, has upper works that receive a structure, and on the underside thereof, i.e. the wet deck, two stilts, i.e. partial hulls are arranged which are spaced apart from one another transversely in the direction of travel. Each partial hull is positioned on a submerged hull which is arranged substantially in the direction of travel of the watercraft and extends over at least part of the upper works. The submerged hulls have characteristic narrowed portions in cross section, which portions are formed on the longitudinal extension of swimmer profiles of the partial hull.

Abstract: A steering system for a hydrofoil watercraft, wherein a user may ride in a seated, prone, kneeling, or standing position while steering the watercraft without the use of his or her bodyweight. Vertical elevation, left and right roll, and longitudinal direction control of the watercraft is accomplished via steering, resulting in movement of the control surfaces (fins) on the hydrofoil, thus eliminating the need for weight shifting on the flotation device. An electronic remote and/or mounted joystick steering system can be operated either electronically or through direct mechanical linkage to control the direction of the watercraft. The steering system can include an unmanned remote controlled drone hydrofoil watercraft that can be operated remotely.

Abstract: Systems, apparatus, and methods for hydrofoil assemblies with planing blades that may be adjusted, and securely maintained in varying tilts with respect to a support member, using a curved indexing system with a curved ridge and a counterpart groove that utilize interacting position retaining elements to retain a desired tilt in different adjustable positions. In one illustrative system, a planing blade may have a convexly curved ridge disposed on a surface thereof with a series of transverse grooves disposed in the curved ridge. A support member may have a counterpart concavely curved receiver with a series of counterpart transverse grooves formed therein. When a user places the planing blade in position with the convex ridge contacting the concave receiver, the blade may be tilted to a desired position. The counterpart transverse grooves interconnect to provide an indexed positive interlock, securely maintaining the blade in the desired position.

Abstract: The present disclosure generally pertains to a lateral displacement surf system and methods of laterally displacing a watercraft to generate wake. The lateral displacement system includes at least one pair of foils configured to be extended from a hull on a first side of the watercraft at a level of approximately the waterline. Upon forward movement of the watercraft with extended foils, the watercraft is rotated about its vertical axis toward the first side and generates waves sufficient for the conduction watersport activities on a second side of the watercraft. In some instances, foils are built into the hull and extended from this position, while in other instances the foils are attached to the hull using attachment structures. Rotation of the foils about an axis of rotation approximately perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the watercraft alters the angle of attack of the foils relative to the waterline.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate generally to a sailing vessel that can substantially obviate the heeling problem experienced by classical sailboats. During navigation, the sailing vessel is driven forward by an aerodynamic force exerted by wind on the sail, and balanced by a hydrodynamic force exerted by water on a float on the stern of the sailing vessel, the aerodynamic force and the hydrodynamic force being parallel or substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the sailing vessel.
