摘要： An adjustable yarn tensioner includes a housing, first and second opposing yarn engaging surfaces, and a tension control assembly for controlling a degree of frictional force applied by the yarn engaging surfaces to a continuously running yarn. The housing has a yarn guiding inlet for receiving the running yarn at an unwinding tension from a yarn supply source, and a yarn guiding outlet for guiding the running yarn exiting the housing at a delivery tension. The first and second yarn engaging surfaces are disposed between the inlet and the outlet of the housing. At least one of the yarn engaging surfaces is adjustably biased towards the other to frictionally engage opposite sides of the running yarn along a path of yarn travel through the housing. The tension control assembly enables a plurality of user-selected graduated tension settings within a tension range greater than 800 grams, and respective tension settings have positive or negative increments of less than 20 grams.

摘要： A thread storage device having a storage drum (1) from which a supply of thread can be withdrawn overhead through a thread take-off eye (5) which is arranged spaced from the end (1') of the drum and having a brake ring (8) which is arranged coaxial to the storage drum, with brake member (2) acting on an edge region (4) of the drum on the thread take-off side, the axial position of the thread take-off eye (5) and brake ring (8) being adjustable relative to the storage drum. 摘要： A yarn tension device is illustrated wherein a concave arcuate surface defines an indentation extending across and below a yarn channel forming an arcuate interruption in the yarn channel for receiving an arcuate rotatable element for rotation by the yarn as it moves through the yarn channel. It is further contemplated that a housing provide an upright receptacle for receiving a number of rotatable elements for rotation by the yarn utilizing the force required to rotate the rotatable elements for tensioning the yarn. A number of receptacles receiving rotatable elements may be provided in spaced aligned relation to vary the amount and mode of tension application. A side opening yarn entrance passageway is contemplated for self-threading the yarn beneath a rotatable element.

摘要： A dispenser is used for dispensing flexible material from a coil. The dispenser includes a frame, a coil carriage mounted to the frame and a brake/payout assembly mounted to the frame. The frame defines an axis of rotation about which the coil carriage rotates. The coil is securable within the coil carriage for rotation with the carriage. The brake/payout assembly is operably mounted to the frame and is moveable toward and away from the coil carriage. The brake/payout assembly is biased toward the coil carriage for engagement with the carriage. The brake/payout assembly engages the coil carriage to slow rotation of the carriage and includes a nip region through which the flexible material traverses during payout.

摘要： A system for feeding a cable into a pipeline or other conduit comprises a rotating turret and a local cable feeding mechanism for drawing the cable off of the turret reel and loading it thereon. A remote cable feeding mechanism for inserting the cable into or withdrawing it from the pipeline is attached to a launch saddle secured to the pipeline, and its feeding rate is synchronized with that of the local cable feeding mechanism. Where the cable acts as an umbilical cable carrying fluids and electrical power to a tool inside the pipeline, the fluid and power supplies may be located on the floor of the reel, connected to an operator station by an electrical cable which winds onto and off of the turret shaft and is kept taut by a spring-biased tensioning arm. A flexible fibreglass rod extends through the cable to prevent coiling or bunching up within the pipeline while permitting the cable to traverse bends and corners.

摘要： A disk brake for textile yarns is mounted upon a horizontal brake support for a warp creel with the disk axis disposed perpendicularly to the brake support. The upper disk can be adjustably loaded for adjusting the braking force. The entire adjustable range of the brake can be controlled with a single spring, which is below the horizontal brake support. The brake spring is disposed parallel to the brake support and is attached at one end preferably to an adjuster that can be shifted relative to the brake support and at the other end to a pivoting lever arm which presses vertically downwardly on the upper disk under the influence of the brake spring.
