摘要: The method includes forming an inner monolithic layer from crystals of beta phase stoichiometric silicon carbide on a carbon substrate in the form of a rod by chemical methylsilane vapor deposition in a sealed tubular hot-wall CVD reactor. The method further includes forming a central composite layer over the inner monolithic layer by twisting continuous beta phase stoichiometric silicon carbide fibers into tows, transporting the tows to a braiding machine, and forming a reinforcing thread framework. A pyrocarbon interface coating is built up by chemical methane vapor deposition in a sealed tubular hot-wall CVD reactor. Then, a matrix is formed by chemical methylsilane vapor deposition in the reactor. A protective outer monolithic layer is formed from crystals of beta phase stoichiometric silicon carbide over the central composite layer by chemical methylsilane vapor deposition in a CVD reactor. And then the carbon substrate is removed from the fabricated semi-finished product.

摘要: The present invention includes, in one embodiment, a method of forming a suture having various cross-sectional shapes, the method including the steps of braiding the suture such that the suture has a first cross-sectional shape along a length; holding a first end of the suture and holding the suture at a second position at a location in between the first end and a second end such that a first portion of the suture is defined between the first end and the second position; manipulating the first end relative to the second position to alter the first portion of the suture into an altered cross-sectional shape different from the first cross-sectional shape; and releasing the first end and the second position, wherein the step of manipulating is performed such that, upon release, the first portion maintains its manipulated shape.

摘要: The present invention provides a joining structure with a joining strength higher than that of a conventional rubber core cord joining structure of a rubber ring. The invention also provides a solidifying agent for joining a rubber core cord that provides such a joining structure. A joining structure 2 of a rubber core cord 11 according to the present invention is a rubber core cord joining structure of which opposite end portions of the rubber core cord 11 or end portions of two rubber core cords are joined to each other with an adhesive. A solidified portion 23 formed by a solidifying agent 25 that has solidified is formed at each of the opposite end portions of the rubber core cord 11 or each of the end portions of the two rubber core cords, and the solidified portion 23 contains porous particles. The solidifying agent 25 according to the present invention is a solidifying agent that is applied to the rubber core cord 11, and contains a solvent containing a solidification component and porous particles contained in the solvent.
