摘要： A method for preventing seam ravel of multi-thread chain stitches is provided. After normal sewing is terminated with a looper set in a forward movement state, a state in which a needle thread loop caught by the looper is subjected to position-holding at a position closer to a forward movement end of the looper than a descent position of a needle is maintained until the needle descends through the needle thread loop caught by the looper. Thereafter, the position-holding of the needle thread loop is released to permit a sewing action for at least one stitch, thereby allowing the needle thread loop to be self-looped with a needle thread held by the needle. This surely strongly prevents the seam ravel of multi-thread chain stitches formed by the single needle, irrespective of the dimension of tension applied to the needle thread and the looper thread.

摘要： A sewing machine includes a head on which a needle bar for fixing a needle is mounted, a thread cutting blade mounted in the head so as to be capable of cutting an end of a thread which is threaded so as to be passed through an eye of the needle, and a holder mounted in the head so as to be capable of holding the thread end after the thread end has been cut by the thread cutting blade. The thread cutting blade is positioned so that a first amount of thread from the eye of the needle mounted in the head to the thread end held by the holder equals a second amount of thread by which the thread end is drawn to an underside of a cloth in a stitch formed immediately after start of a sewing operation.

摘要： A sewing machine for automatic thread taking-up and threading comprising a guide groove for guiding a needle thread to a threading preparatory position in the vicinity of a needle bar via a thread taking-up preparatory position intersecting a thread take-up moving area, a sewing machine motor driver for extracting the needle thread along the thread take-up moving area and for instructing a thread take-up to catch the needle thread, a pulse motor driver for threading the needle thread to an eye of a needle, a threading switch for generating signals, and an electronic control circuit for controlling the pulse motor driver and the sewing machine driver at prescribed timings in response to the signals from the threading switch. In the sewing machine, an operator has only to prepare a needle thread along the guide groove and push the threading switch. The electronic control circuit then controls the pulse motor driver and the sewing machine driver for the thread taking-up operation and the threading operation, respectively. Any operator can operate the sewing machine with easiness because the thread take-up operation and the threading operation are automatically performed without complicated cam mechanism or linkage mechanism. In addition, the sewing machine is easy to manufacture and the timing of operations can easily be adjusted.

摘要： A sewing machine for automatic thread take-up and threading, which comprises a guide groove for guiding a needle thread from a bobbin to a threading preparatory position via a thread take-up preparatory position, a sewing machine motor driver and a sewing machine motor for extracting the needle thread at the thread take-up preparatory position along the thread take-up moving area and for taking up the needle thread using a thread receiver and/or a thread take-up, and a thread positioning member for keeping the end of the needle thread guided to the threading preparatory position and for positioning the needle thread in front of or at the rear of the eye of a needle, a threading member for performing the threading operation of the needle thread, and a prohibiting member for prohibiting the threading operation until the thread take-up operation is over. In the sewing machine, the thread take-up operation and the heading operation are automatically and successively performed. The needle thread is kept at its end by a thread positioning member and a tension member is opened during the thread take-up operation. Therefore, the end of the needle thread is not drawn toward the thread take-up. The operator has only to put the needle thread along the guide groove and does not have to prepare the needle thread twice for the thread take-up operation and the threading operation.

The thread feeding device is comprised of a pressure roller (10) and a feed roller (8) driven by a motor, an encoding device (17) installed on the main drive shaft of the sewing machine, an encoder (8a) for measuring the length of the thread fed, and a thread holding device (11), whereby when the encoding device (17) gives the signal to the thread holding device to release the thread, the thread feeding device feeds the thread for completing one full stitch, and the encoder (8a) actuates the thread holding device (11) to hold the thread during the stitching.

摘要： A thread-holding device is used with a standard buttonhole machine having a support head, a stitching needle for a needle thread displaceably mounted on the support head, and a blade for cutting the needle thread after a stitching operation and forming thereon a free end extending laterally from the needle. The thread-holding device comprises a support plate pivoted on the head, and a thread clip having a pair of jaws displaceable between a closed position engaging each other for holding the thread and an open position for releasing it. An actuator on the support plate and carrying the thread clip can move same vertically between an upper position spaced laterally relatively far from the needle and a lower position laterally relatively close to the needle. A control unit is connected to the clip and to the actuator for moving the clip from the open to the closed position while moving it from the upper to the lower position after a stitching operation to grasp the free end of the cut thread adjacent the needle. On moving back up into the upper position, the thread is pulled out of the clip, which is however aligned with the second, normally right-hand, side of the buttonhole so that this free end will be stitched right into the buttonhole.

摘要： A stitching head for a stitching or embroidering machine for forming stitches fixed to the machine by a support including at least one needle which is associated with a main presser foot having a pressing heel. The stitching head has an auxiliary presser foot which is independent of the main presser foot and has a heel pierced with an opening. The auxiliary presser foot is mounted for sliding, with respect to the support, along an axis parallel to the needle, whereby its heel is disposed in the path of the downward movement of the main presser foot parallel to and spaced apart from the pressing heel of the main presser foot, while having its opening situated in the path of the needle. A helical spring is mounted for permanently urging the auxiliary presser foot toward the main presser foot.

摘要： A sewing needle threader using the presser foot of a sewing machine as a housing is disclosed. A movable rod is slidably mounted in the housing and contains a tiny hook adapted for insertion through the eye of a needle on one end of the rod. A spring is coiled around the rod and confined between defining walls of a chamber of the housing into which the other end of the rod projects. The rod is adapted to attach to a pivotally mounted handle located outside of housing. The handle may be placed in a raised position when not in use and may be lowered into alignment with the rod for advancing the hook through the front of the housing into engagement with the eye of a needle. In another embodiment the housing is adapted for use in threading hand held needles.
