Abstract: Systems and processes provide for a thermal process to transform sludge (and a variety of other natural waste materials) into electricity. Dewatered sludge and other materials containing a high amount of latent energy are dried into a powdered biofuel using a drying gas produced in the system. The drying gas is recirculated and is heated by the biofuel produced in the system, waste heat (from turbines or internal combustion engines), gas (including natural gas or digester gas) and/or oil. The biofuel is combusted in a boiler system that utilizes a burner operable to burn biofuel and produce heat utilized in a series of heat exchangers that heat the recirculating drying air and steam that powers the turbines for electricity production.

Abstract: Proposed is an equipment for reducing specific air pollutants generated from heated asphalt concrete with proportional control, which includes: a dryer for heating and drying aggregates and for burning harmful gases introduced through nozzles mounted thereon; a first dust remover for removing dust from the harmful gases emitted from the dryer; a fine dust remover for filtering fine dust from the remaining gases and dust; a bypass damper for returning some of the gases and dust emitted from the first dust remover to a second dust remover; the second dust remover for filtering the dust in the gases and dust emitted from the first dust remover; and a blower for feeding the gases exhausted from the second dust remover to the dryer, wherein clean gas exhausted from the fine dust remover is emitted to the air through an exhaust fan and a stack.

Abstract: Disclosed is a slurry drying plant (1) comprising a slurry inlet (2) for feeding slurry to the slurry drying plant (1) and two or more meshing screw conveyors (3, 4) arranged to at least partly divide the slurry while conveying the slurry in a transport direction from the slurry inlet (2) to a slurry outlet (5). The slurry drying plant (1) further includes slurry heating means (6) comprising means for passing superheated steam substantially at atmospheric pressure past the slurry and the two or more meshing screw conveyors (3, 4), while they are conveying the slurry. Furthermore, a method for drying slurry and use of a slurry drying plant (1) is disclosed.

Abstract: Systems and methods for drying or bonding materials are described. A material to be dried or bonded may be passed through a through air dryer (TAD) (or other dryer). Some of the air output by a TAD may be recirculated to be passed back through material. As the air is recirculated, it is heated and mixed to a desired temperature for drying or bonding. A separate hot air injection system may heat ambient air and/or air exhausted by the TAD and inject the heated air into the recirculated air.

Abstract: A system according to the present invention provides a radiant conveyor drying system and method of operation. The radiant conveyor drying system generally comprises an input assembly, a drying assembly and an exit assembly mechanically fixed to one another. The drying assembly comprising at least one drying unit in communication with one another to provide for passage of product between the respective drying units and the input assembly and the exit assembly. The drying unit comprising a conveyor belt and a drying unit heating assembly. The drying unit heating assembly comprising a plenum and a heating chamber. The drying unit further comprising a burning unit in communication with the heating chamber to provide for radiant heat to contact the product traveling on the conveyor through the drying unit. The drying unit further comprising a blower far in communication with the plenum to provide for convective air advancing from the plenum, over and through the radiant heat, to the product. Wherein the radiant heat is disbursed throughout the product. A first embodiment of the invention controlling hear generated by the burning unit of each respective drying unit. A second embodiment of the invention controlling heat generated by the burning unit and rate of the conveyor of each respective drying unit. A method of operation of the radiant conveyor drying system is described.

Abstract: A fluidized bed system is a single unitary modular system that packages a circulation fan, a fluidized bed, and a dust collection system within a same structure. The structure is formed to include internal ducts to provide fluid communication between the circulation fan, the fluidized bed, and the dust collection system. The fan provides a flow of air via a pressure duct to the fluidized bed. Particulate is separated from particles included on the fluidized bed by the flow of air being uniformly distributed to the fluidized bed. Particulate separated in a disengagement area and suspended in the flow of air is conducted through a particulate clearance space surrounding the dust collection system. The particulate is captured by the dust collection system and conveyed to a location external to the system.

Abstract: A circulation channel circularly supplying air heated by a burner is connected to a drying chamber into which a painted workpiece is supplied. The circulation channel includes a flame holding cylinder surrounding a flame of the burner and a casing surrounding the flame holding cylinder from outside and protrudes further than the flame holding cylinder toward a front end side, opposite to a side of the burner, of the flame holding cylinder. The casing includes a low temperature air inlet port that introduces low temperature air from outside into the casing, an exhaust port that exhausts high temperature air heated by the burner and the low temperature air to the circulation channel, and a mixing mechanism that is formed in the casing and mixes the high temperature air and the low temperature air before the high temperature air and the low temperature air are exhausted from the exhaust port.

Abstract: A method for drying bulk goods, in particular wood fibers and/or wood chips, wherein the bulk goods is continuously dried in a dryer (1), in particular a drum dryer. The vapor-gas mixture flows through the drum dryer (1) in a dryer circuit and is indirectly heated via at least one heat exchanger (4) by a burner waste gas that is heated in at least one burner (5). The drying vapors are supplied to the at least one heat exchanger (4). Upstream, downstream and/or within the at least one heat exchanger (4), at least a partial flow of the drying vapors are branched off to be conducted into the burner (5). The remaining partial flow is conducted to the dryer (1) again. The partial flow of drying vapors to the burner (5) is driven by at least one regulable partial vapor fan (10).
