    摘要: An enhanced breaching round and techniques for manufacturing such are provided. A breaching round includes a case defining a volume, a propellant disposed in the volume of the case, and a projectile coupled to the case. The projectile may include a body disposed at least partially within the case and configured to enclose the propellant within the volume of the case. The body may be formed of a castable eutectic mixture configured to be melted and cast, wherein the body is configured to break into a plurality of fragments upon impact with a target. A cavity may be disposed between the proximal end and the distal end of the body, and a reactive material disposed in the cavity, the reactive material comprising at least one oxidizer and at least one fuel.

    摘要: A liquid or powder filled cartridge is used to cool and lubricate the bore of gun barrels to eliminate cook off and improve barrel life. A primer is used to rupture the nose of the cartridge and propel the cooling material into the bore. The coolant absorbs heat from the bore of the barrel and is ejected from the muzzle of the weapon. The liquid or powder may include lubricants, preservatives, antifreeze, coolants, cleaners, or mixtures thereof, or other materials to enhance barrel performance. The liquid or powder filled cartridge is particularly well suited to externally powered weapons. Ammunition may be fed into the weapon using a mix of conventional cartridges and coolant filled cartridges. Internally cooling the barrel may be used to reduce or eliminate cook off and increase barrel life.

    摘要: A lightweight projectile having an integrated driving band positioned around the exterior of the polymer base of the projectile for engaging the rifling of a barrel to impart spin stabilization to the projectile. The driving band protrudes from the polymer base to minimize the contact between the polymer base and the rifling to reduce friction between the barrel and the projectile as the projectile is fired. The reduced friction allows the lightweight projectile to be propelled with minimal propellant force while still retaining the ballistic advantages of a spin stabilized projectile.

    摘要: A bullet is formed with a hollow interior compartment which contains particles. The bullet side-wall surrounding the hollow interior compartment breaks after impact with the target to release the particles from the hollow interior compartment. Preferably, each particle in the hollow interior compartment has a core substance and a coating surrounding the core substance. The coating is designed to release the core substance after the bullet contacts a target. The core substance swells when in contact with blood, which may be time delayed in order to enter the blood stream.

    摘要: The invention is an aerosol search and rescue (SAR) grenade. A smoke signal is produced that is comparable to the smoke signal produced by a pyrotechnic grenade. An aspirating provides a propellant gas/air mixture to a reservoir of smoke material. A container configuration and gravity operated valve provide for a smoke plume only in the upward direction. The smoke grenade is useful in life rafts. It is also useful in inland areas posing a risk of fire.

Through use of the Gun Disabling Mock Ammunition, a reduction of deaths, injuries and crimes resulting from the intentional and unintentional use and access of unsecured legal, illegal and insurgent-force firearms can be achieved.
