摘要: A gamma fusion computing method based on gamma probe parameters is provided, which relates to the technical field of oil drilling equipment while drilling, including: acquiring measurement values of two gamma probes in one continuous rotation period, and utilizing a mean value and a variance of the measurement values in the one rotation period as an evaluation reference value of each gamma probe; determining whether the gamma probes are abnormal, if the two gamma probes are both normal, utilizing the weight values to perform weight fusion on the measured values measured by two gamma probes, and if there is a gamma probe that is abnormal, then multiplying the average of the measured values of the normal gamma probe in the rotation period by 2 as a gamma output value for output. The gamma fusion computing method is capable of accurately determine the abnormal conditions of the gamma probes and effectively resolve the abnormal output. If there is no abnormal gamma probe, the outputted gamma value is also more accurate, which may do well in providing the engineering and technical personnel with correct identification.

摘要: A downhole logging system includes a gamma ray source positioned within a logging tool. The system further includes a collimator associated with the gamma ray source, the collimator having an opening to direct a flow of radiation into the formation. The system also includes a radiation detector operable to detect backscatter radiation from the area. The system further includes a motor to rotate the collimator in either a continuous or stepping fashion for scanning a borehole and an actuator associated with the gamma ray source. The actuator moves the gamma ray source between a first position and a second position, the first position being misaligned with the opening and the second position being aligned with the opening.

The downhole tool also includes a second photon flux detector disposed at a second radial position about the longitudinal axis of the downhole tool that measures a second signal indicative of the x-ray flux of the x-ray photons. Further, the downhole tool includes a controller communicatively coupled to the first photon flux detector and the second photon flux detector that determines a condition associated with the electron beam based at least in part on a relative x-ray flux from the first photon flux detector and the second photon flux detector.

摘要: A method for identifying a defect within a cement layer of a multi string wellbore includes deploying a gamma scanner into the multistring wellbore, the gamma scanner including at least one source and at least one detector, the at least one source emitting radiation into the multistring wellbore and the at least one detector receiving backscatter radiation. The method also includes obtaining, from the gamma scanner, a count rate associated with at least one region of interest of the multistring wellbore. The method further includes identifying, based at least in part on data acquired from the gamma scanner, a background profile for the multistring wellbore. The method includes removing the background profile from the count rate. The method further includes identifying, within the at least one region of interest, a defect within the cement layer.

摘要: A computer-implemented method that uses a preprogrammed neural network and a trained neural network computer program product to predict and then compared borehole and formation sigmas, when using a pulse neutron source and at least three dual-function radiation detectors. These dual-function radiation detectors are used for detecting both neutrons and gamma rays and further pre-programmed to distinguish between neutrons and gamma rays by using pulse shape discrimination techniques. The trained neural network computer program product can be used on above-surface systems, as well as below surface systems like borehole assemblies in logging-while-drilling systems. Once thermal neutron time-decay signals and capture gamma ray time-decay signals are measured by the at least three-dual function radiation detectors, a non-transitory computer readable memory device with the trained neural network computer program product is used to obtain a true borehole sigma and true formation sigma as the measurements are not affected by near-wellbore environments.

摘要: An x-ray based litho-density tool for measurement of simultaneous invaded and non-invaded formation surrounding a borehole is provided, the tool including at least an internal length comprising a sonde section, wherein sonde section further includes an x-ray source; at least one radiation measuring detector; at least one source monitoring detector; and a plurality of sonde-dependent electronics. In various embodiments, the tool uses x-rays to illuminate the formation surrounding a borehole, and a plurality of detectors are used to directly measure both invaded and non-invaded formation bulk densities. Detectors used to measure borehole standoff such that other detector responses may be compensated for tool standoff; long and ultra-long space detectors disposed in electromagnetic communication with a source located within a collimated tungsten radiation shield; and wear-pads disposed such that the source and detector assembly may be pressed against the side of the borehole to reduce borehole effects are also provided.
